    You would have to trade something to get a TOR starter. Assuming Ballesteros and Caisse are part of the replacing Tucker plan. What else is left? I think Shaw is playing 140 games at 3rd next year and any pitching improvements will be FAs. Which from a Cub fan perspective means finding value in the secondary market

    I dont mind the current playoff system. But I would start the Division series on Friday and only have 1 off day in the Division series. That would make winning the WC in 2 games a bigger priority, give the teams with a bye a bigger edge and prioritize starting pitching more

    Snell, Yamamoto, Ohtani and Glasnow are going to be hard to beat for anyone....especially a team that is scrapping together outs from anywhere. Watching this post season makes it obvious the Cubs have to get better at starting pitching.....AND have them healthy and pitching good in October

    I live in central Illinois, nothing Milwaukee ever does touches my disdain for the Cardinals and all the effing Cardinal/Packers fans that live around here

    I already have a $20 wager that he will hit 25 HRs next season if he is not a White Sox.

    Is Moises Ballesteros body type a concern? Can he get work next year as a 3rd catcher? When Amaya inevitably gets hurt can take some turns catching?

    I am not a statistician or English major. I always think the word rating implies a certain level of subjectivity. When you rate something, even if you use stats to support your rating, your actual rating is still an opinion.

    In his rookie year he was about middle of the league in 3rd base production. I think people who want someone else are going to be disappointed. I think he is already penciled in at 3rd for next season.

    Cignetti's bank acct had a good day yesterday. A very big programs job came open the same day Indiana solidified themselves as a national contender.

    I would kick in $20 for MSU to hire Franklin. I know PSU fans are going to clamor for Cignati, but they are going to settle for Manny Diaz or something like that.

    Why not? Edit, I think they would be just as likely to resign him as the Cubs would if they traded for him

    Yeah, even Belli. They won't replaces Schwarbers pop, but the run prevention over Castellanos would be significant. Bader/Marsh platoon in CF and the rookie in left. If Wheeler comes back its a rotation of Sanchez, Wheeler, Nola, Luzardo and Walker? Thats going to be an easy playoff team. If they do resign Schwarber, I think they will need to find a RH bat to play right. They cannot send Castellanos out there another year

    I think the Yankees will do what it takes to keep him. But I think he will have a strong market. Hits LHers real well, plays solid defense. Good ballplayer. I think if the Tucker money gets too high, several teams could pivot to Belli

    My wife is a Phillies fan, so I get to watch plenty of them. I actually think they would be better served letting Schwarber go and putting those resources into a power hitting corner OFer who can at least play average defense. Castellanos can be a DH. And yeah if the can get better defense at SS and move Turner to 3rd. I know Bohm is a well loved teammate, but not enough power to justify that defense. They probably have to resign Realmutto. Also, need a backup catcher badly

    Managerial decisions are overrated/ players executing is underrated come playoff time. Counsell like any player who is a FA is paid really well based on past performance. I also think Hoyer really wanted Counsell not because of who he is going to pick to start game 4(I bet Hoyer is probably part of that decision) but his ability/patience in developing young players. Plus helping create a winning environment
