    Because Ben Brown was the only pitcher who was well rested and had success against the Brewers this season, which seemed to be your criteria. I get the criticism, but all of the options came with big question marks. They picked wrong and adjusted quickly. Unfortunately Soroka was worse. Here is the truth with this series, the Cubs are in a bad way with starting pitching. They are going to need to score 5+ runs a game to have a chance. A healthy Horton or close the Padres out in 2 and it would not have been so bad

    At the end of the day, players need to perform well. Its that simple. The Cubs first 2 pitchers didn't get the job done. I still like their stuff better than Rea and Civale. I think they are going to be in a bad way all series with starting pitching. Cubs hitters are going to score 5 plus runs a game to have a shot.

    In this case its true. Its not like Colin Rea was the obvious correct decision. It wasnt an egregious decision.

    No. But his name has made him more highly rated than he should be. I think if he sticks around another year, he will improve quite a bit. I also think Texas high preseason ranking had a lot to do with his name.

    I kind of get that. Im not saying I was indifferent about it, but I would say I would have not thought the season a success if they lost. Now I think the Cubs are playing with house money

    Good news, what the Padres did today is not sustainable. Bad news, they just need to do it one more game against the Cubs.

    I really like Seiya in RF. I think the sample is big enough now to say there is something to playing the field that carries over to his hitting

    I dont think the Cubs would have won 8 more games if they had prime Pedro. Their starting pitching was not that poor

    3 Top 5 teams lost today. I think its going to end up being a wild year. Of course USC losing hurts them. But I think ND still has a good shot at the playoffs

    For 3 quarters it really felt like every other time PSU have played a good OSU or Michigan team recently. They still lost of course but the game had a different feel about it at the end.

    How does Penn St not have any downfield weapons? Their offense is almost as bad as Michigan's last year As soon asI post this they go on a 5 play TD drive:)

    Yeah, they got a big early lead and got Illinois out of what they are good at. I think if they played again it would be a very competitive game. Illinois is a good team, not great but they will be just fine.

    Indiana got Illinois away from their power running attack. Made Illinois PP trash. Once a game becomes a blowout, score doesnt matter. Illinois was able to keep running ball, kept SCs dline honest. I also think USC was somewhat overrated
