  1. I kind of get it, but how many lefty relievers do the Pirates have? Turner is a big decline against a mighty coming later
  2. It's actually more than I ever expected. Stallions has been outwardly arrogant about this from the get go....probably knowing eventually it would end up being almost nothing. Also, to irritate the heck out of Spartan and Buckeye fans
  3. Hope the wind is really blowing out. I dont care if the Cubs lose 18-15. Just build some confidence back in the offense.
  4. Living in the Champaign area, I've noticed Illinois fans seem more reluctant about being ranked 12th than others. I think they have a legit shot at making the playoffs
  5. I think Turner should have hit for Busch. Wasted 2 bat's for 1 pinch hit
  6. I usually hate small ball, but the way the offense has been going it didn't bother me
  7. I would wager a good hunk of money that the Cubs make the playoffs. The offense will get back on track, not early season track but better than recent.
  8. 5 pages, I see I wasn't the only one to take a day off from the Cubs
  9. Counter theory. Signing Tucker will hamper the Cubs ability to resign or sign other players for several years. So having a productive minor league system producing cost controlled will be important. In my counter theory, Happ or Suzuki would have to be traded. Which would be difficult, but its my counter theory
  10. Double clicked
  11. I get the idea of having a speed guy onthe bench. but the Cubs have good team speed. Berti just does not add much value.
  12. I have never gotten the idea that you have to be buyers or sellers. Making yourself better should be the goal.
  13. When Brock played and elected to the Hall, the things he did well were valued way more than they are now. His poor defense was not held against him that much. Plus he was a World Series hero.
  14. ZZ has done radio the last 2 days..I was wondering the same thing about the commute for Pat
  15. Drives me crazy that he is still on the team....you can't tell me there isnt a more useful scrap heap player somewhere. Where is Mastrobouni
  16. I wonder if the Yankees also believe Suarez will regress more to his norm the rest of the season. That is a concern of mine, not that he isnt worth getting, but his season so far has him way over valued.
  17. Wait...there was a poster named Duke Silver? Could he play the sax?
  18. Before Covid, U of I was talking about building a multi purpose ice arena in Champaign. With that they were going to start a D1 hockey program. Obviously I think all that fell through. But what I find interesting is the state of Illinois produces the 4th or 5thmost NHLers of any state but does not have a D1 college program. Really think if they could get an arena to play in, D1 hockey would do well there. Being in the B1G would really help
  19. I would love getting Castro. I would not trade Long for him though. If that's the asking price for Castro, I really dont want Suarez.
  20. I wish the NHL would just have a tie after 5 min OT. Im not sure how I feel about a tie in MLB, but I sure wouldn't want a HR derby decide. At least the Ghost Runner is still mostly an actual baseball thing, though I am not a fan of that either.
  21. MLB Net has a lot of decent ex players who give solid analysis.....To bad Dero and Reynolds have somehow got to be the top guys.
