  1. Maybe? Thanks? i think he already used that one on you.
  2. but who knows more more? the child, empty of impressions, or the 50 year old, full of the wrong ones? I am not stating there are trends I see that are untrue (like a players ability with RISP) nor saying something like Lee always tends to strike out with the runners in motion. I am not drawing on these observances here. I am simply stating there are multiple ways major leaguers approach a given at bat. i think that hitters have multiple approaches within a plate appearance depending upon what they're guessing is coming. if they think a fastball is headed their way, they're going to try to hit it out of the park. it's no different with ramirez. his approach is consistent with what he thinks is coming.

  4. I'm watching him right now. They all look the same to me. It never ceases to amaze me how little some peopl actually see when watching a game. Nor does it amaze me how much people see beyond what is actually happening. It you dont think hitters shorten their swings, push the ball, swing for contact, etc... you have no idea what youre talking about what does it matter what you see? it's probably a lie or a half-truth, anyway.
  5. You were supposed to not post in Edmonds threads while he was going good. Now he's gonna tank. oh no, you're wrong. this is my, how would you say........"my i told you so wet dream"? :D And look how well that worked out for Felix and Ronny. oh, felix wasn't going to play, anyway. for whatever reason, lou hates him, that's not going to change until hendry forces his hand. might as well sit back and relax while edmonds does well--and be smug, very very smug.
  6. how about we bring back the second best pitcher in the organization? Sure. Do anything you want. As long as it means no more Marquis, I'm on board. i just noticed that bringing back the second best starting pitcher on the team was noticeably absent from your list of possible remedies.

  9. i don't think that deal favors the heat. now, the bulls could scare them by talking to other teams in need of a point guard--but the money would be hard to match up, anyway.
  10. the hats are also not japanese. i believe they are from the southeast asian mainland. i lived in seattle when ichiro broke into the league, and there are actually japanese people that live there, so it was more of a hello kitty chirp-fest. gigantic groups of people all holding up cartoon signs and chanting "ichiro, ichiro, i-chi-rohhhhhhhhhhhh!" in a castrati-like pitch.
  11. wasn't he the name of the body in the body or stand by me?
  12. that would be a disaster if jennings doesn't qualify, i mean, it would be a tragdy for college basketball, that kid is freaking amazing.
  13. i don't know, bobby jenks is real real good. and he's got way more saves than marmol. plus he won a world series. come back and tell me that when marmol has a few years of closing out games under his belt, then they can be comparable. saves are way more important than whatever it is that marmol does. there, is that a good sox fan impression or what? You should also add, "has Marmol ever set his own arm on fire? No. Case closed." And, "Damn, I'm drunk. I better get done beating my wife. It's late and I have a busy day pouring concrete tomorrow." change the last sentence, sox fans don't have jobs. he might be pouring concrete tomorrow, but it's not his job.
  14. I remember Mike Fetters doing some crazy head snapping thing because of his asthma every closer does it. heck, even set-up guys do it. farnsworth always did that. Oh, I wasn't slamming him. I love crazy players. People hate on Valverde, but I love his insanity. I just had never really notied Marmol holding the ball up like that and looking down/at the dugout and then whipping his head around at the batter. It's badass. Even moreso if he is talking to the ball and/or himself. i wasn't saying that you were slamming him, just that the whole whip the head around-thing is common. what marmol does is cooler, though.

  17. that play poured beer down gamecast's throat.
  18. He sounds like an average Cub fan he'll be fired soon if he keeps it up.
