  1. eckstein still too gritty to make outs against us, forces teammates to make them.
  2. You've got it backwards. Keep Wood healthy in the pen, move Marmol to the rotation. i think either way, it works. one of them will have to be in the rotation, because they both can't close. at least, so says conventional wisdom.
  3. yes, please. Its interesting. Can Hoff play LF? i don't see why not, but i'd rather have someone who's sure to produce.
  4. move him to the rotation next year, marmol will want to close, eclusively, even though he's more valuable in his current role.
  5. correct, the cuban uniforms look just like cubs uniforms, except the c is more stylized. anyone remember the avatar that i had of castro in what looked like a cub uniform?
  6. Oh, I know. I am just amazed at how far he has fallen. He had the huge extension and now is in the minors. What a horrid start so far for the Tigers. Yeah, its not good. It isn't that surprising though. Willis has never had picture perfect mechanics. Too many things can, and have, gone wrong in that delivery. One wonders if he hadn't had so much success in 2003 if they would have tried to fix this before now. but 2003 wasn't his only successful year.
  7. i really hope it's jones.
  8. When you were just in trouble for a similar occurrence and you have been warned by the Bears to quit it, it should be shocking. actually he got in trouble because some guys who barely graduated hs in texas decided to try to bully a rich black man You can't be serious. i think all most all law enforcement agencies in the us no matter how small require a bachelors degree not true. my dad's a cop and he never went to college. however, he spent 23 years air force pararescue as a squadron leader. but my uncle is also a cop and they pretty much deputized him when he went to file for unemployment.
  9. great job in whittling the list down to guys whose names "resonate" with the fans, pax. i can't see any really excellent candidate being interested in the bulls job, anyway. the way that paxson and reinsdorf have handled the search is an embarassment. i wouldn't want to work in a situation where i have no idea who is running things. i'd like to see some candidate walk into pax's office for an interview and ask: "okay, so who the [expletive] hell is in charge here? who do i answer to? is it you, are you the boss?" what a joke, this franchise needs a housecleaning. pax and reinsdorf are back to outthinking themselves.
  10. well, i stand somewhat corrected, even though o like to see a lower baa.
  11. was guzman really even that good before he got hurt the last time? i'm not all that excited about the prospect of him joining the rotation later in the season.
  12. I think people remember the way it ended and forget everything else regarding Steve Stone. Brenly is slowly getting better to where he hardly bothers me, which is all I ask from an announcer. i remember everything about stone, i hated thim then and i hate him now. he masquerades as an expert, and while he does provide some insight, he behaves as if no one else in the business has ever fathomed when and where to throw a slider.
  13. for the record, i know plenty of people that have dui's. but then, they have more of a reason to drink than benson does.
  14. this has to be a joke.
  15. but but but they want a name that resonates with the fans! you'd think that after all of this time searching and interviewing, attempting to find a big name coach whose name "resonates" with the fans, that they would have hired batman or something. vinny del negro? chuck person? tyrone corbin? might as well have just stuck with doug collins if they wanted a big name guy. in truth, what the bulls want is someone cheap.
  16. sinatro was the guy who needed to say something to the ump there. didn't look like he said a word.
  17. since steve stone is terrible, brenly wins by default.
  18. because he cannot hit it. like i said, he goes into defense mode. if it's close, he tries to foul it off.
