  1. oh jeez, i don't know if i can take this guy pumping his fist and acting like an idiot while he shuts us down.
  2. yeah, the bulls can now dump their "nucleus" and actually try to win. derrick rose is a very unique player. i'd still take eric gordon.
  3. as someone who has only seen him pitch at the big league level, i'm impressed with sean and think that he has everything it takes to be a very very good pitcher in this leage. that said, he'll need to maintain his minor league pace in k/9, if not better it, at this level if he wants to be a consistently excellent pitcher. either that, or develop a sinker or have out-of-this-world control. he simply cannot rely on fly balls to get outs from game to game. but congrats on his performance and here's to many more! I think there have been a few successful flyball pitchers at the ML level who weren't big strikeout pitchers. I don't totally disagree with the sentiment of your post, just saying that it's possible. i really don't think that there are any that have been consistently successful, to be honest. i can't think of any.
  4. I really hope he succeds with the Cubs, but, ugh... It'll take a while to get over his STL days. That catch eased the process a bit. i just don't get this kind of thinking.
  5. I laughed at my TV screen when Thorne said he "looped it to LF". yeah, i knew that was long gone when it came off the bat.
  6. station-to-station.

  8. If it makes it easier, you could treat Edmonds like all the MLB video games treat Bonds. Make up a hilarious fake name with the same number (I believe MLB games referred to Bonds as Reggie Stocker). MVP Baseball called him Jon Dowd. and he was white and right-handed. so, i guess, the moral of the story is, just imagine edmonds is a right-handed black guy.
  9. how about a big sign that says "I wish I was here". that will get you some camera time.
  10. seems like we've been fortunate against the pirates thus far. they usually someohow manage to make a charge and we stopped them today. if howry can just turn back into a steady reliever.......
  11. the beginning of the end was when ron was talking about how intimidating the cubs hitters are.
  12. no matter how many times we beat these guys, it always seems like they make some sort of charge at one point or another.
  13. lee = good at baseball edmonds at this stage of his career = bad at baseball PM me if you need further explanation. but people aren't freaking out about this because he's bad at baseball. at least, most of them aren't.
  14. God, stop using that word. It makes you sound so bitter/pathetic. speak of the devil.
  15. good players that make what soto are making are worth an exponential figure of their weight in gold.
  16. Somehow it'll be remembered as Edmonds' fault the ball bounced off the wall on two hops to the catcher, so that Ramirez was out. That 7th inning AB was a shame, though. i'll hope that the cubs can get something out of him, if they don't, i'll be the first to admit that he should be let go. i'm not going to hate on him for the 32 home runs he's hit off of us in 8 years, though.
  17. it's funny to see all the irrational, meatball posts. it's kinda the opposite of when ditka went to new orleans. the meatballs really didn't know what to do, then.
  18. damn kids these days... http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080515&content_id=2705570&vkey=news_chc&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc i hate z, now, i hate him so much. it makes me sick to think that he'd welcome edmonds to the team.
