  1. yeah, those are my sentiments also. I was never a huge Beckham fan, but I'll buy a ticket to see him when he comes to Chicago.
  2. says the guy that loved Jose Macias
  3. That was terrible. The guy on the Fox Soccer Report last night called it "swimming"
  4. And that he's got a sweet looking fanny, IIRC.
  5. Yeah. Milan's short on central defenders. They've been drafting Maldini and Kaladze into the middle, while both of them prefer to play wide. Also, Nesta is much less durable than a few years ago. Also, they've played Billy Costacurta in the middle on several occasions. Yes. 41-year old Billy Costacurta. He'd make a decent number of appearances.
  6. That's disappointing, hopefully he's able to move somewhere else by the end of the month. Rumor has it that AC Milan is interested. I'd imagine learning from Nesta and Maldini would be good apprenticeship for the Gooch.
  7. Who was the pitching coach for the Cubs in 1998? No way in hell would I allow a pitcher to take the mound with those mechanics. you tell 'em
  8. A 5/70 contract can't be a millstone for a team with the payroll of the Red Sox.
  9. Not really. I like Pat Devlin a lot (highly-touted recruit who committed last year), but he'll be a redshirt frosh who has never taken a snap. I think Daryl Clark is next in line, but I'm not enamored with him at all. I think Morelli's performance in the Outback Bowl was very, very encouraging. And Austin Scott will replace Hunt. Less yards after first contact, but more explosiveness. Unless some sort of story comes out about him being sent home from the Outback Bowl. Also, LeSean McCoy is rumored to be leaning toward PSU (if he meets the academic standard, that is)
  10. I think his comeback depends on what they replaced.
  11. I've got one more game to go, since I said this about the entire BCS.
  12. That was also true for Steve Trachsel and Kyle Farnsworth during their years with the Cubs. If I recall correctly, in Saberhagen's case at least some of the down years were due to injuries. And in Farnsworth's case, it was due to him being a gutless, choking dog.
  13. I think they have 3 losses, pulling out one of those 4 road games. I think they have 7 losses and finish 9th in the SEC
  14. Fixed
  15. Hahahahahahahaha. Oh, bumps for me.... We won't even bother bumping the "they don't deserve it" argument
  16. Though Bonds in 2001 came very close to changing that balance for himself. And Mizzou: I'll take a team that can draw a walk every time to one that can make solid contact every time - every time. Actually a team that can draw a walk every time will never get out of the first inning if they dont make any outs on the bases. After about 3 business days and about 675432 runs scored the MLB would have to step in with a slaughter rule. But think of the advertising revenue. And if Bonds was involved, ESPN would cut to ever AB of his, making the ad billboard behind home plate quite profitable. Don't forget also that steroids would no longer be an issue. :P Didn't they say that steroids enhances eyesight though? If that is the case then being able to recognize pitches and taking them would be affected by steroids. growth hormone enhances eyesight Did you end up going to optometry school? (Seriously) yep. But I didn't learn that there
  17. Oh, I didn't doubt you. My memory is just failing me today. BTW have you been watching Roma play? Are they still 7 behind Inter? Yep. Serie A is off until the 14th. They've looked great of late. Gorgeous overhead kick goal from taddei in their last game.
  18. Thats what i meant. Sorry. but the point stands article saying what I just said
  19. I know Convey had issues getting the work permit when he first tried to go over to England. I think Dempsey has played in the prerequisite number of USMNT games that he would need for his work permit, so here's hoping for a smooth transfer. He hasn't. The rule is that a player must have appeared in 75% of his national team's games in the past year. Dempsey appeared in 9 of 13. he was on the bench for the Italy WC match, wasn't on the roster for 2 of the WC tuneups (one because he was suspended for that fight at the Revs practice), and missed the first NT appearance of last year (not sure why on that one). The fact that he doesn't have the 75% is why they have to go to the permit tribunal.
  20. I just hope those work permit issues don't bite him.
