  1. Pie might not have been rushed, but Patterson was. Pie also is starting to show success after being allowed his normal pattern.
  2. Because the Bear's DB's don't understand the meaning of the word "coverage"
  3. One of my sister's good friends is married to Dahl (the guy who got the holding call). (I think that is who it is).
  4. If you listen to just after the Plano East team scores the go-ahead touchdown, the announcer pulls a Kanye.
  5. I don't think Lilly, Bradley, Cashner & cash is going to get Granderson from Detroit, even though he really fell off this year.
  6. I like that in the article the writer writes, "the last year of a one year deal."
  7. my plan would be to not do any of those Why? You get your leadoff man, your LH power hitter, someone to platoon with Fukudome in center, and you shore up the bullpen. You're also taking on a crapload of salary. Rowand isn't that good, is owed more than Bradley, and you want to acquire him as a platoon player? Hawpe is due $7.5 million next season. Why spend money on Dotel? Giving Figgins four years OR $10 mil/yr are bad ideas. Offering him both is horrible. That and Smoltz is done, Cashner is nowhere near ready, and Corpas has come crashing back to earth and has his salary going up the next two years. Dotel is probably going to be looking for $5-6mil/year again and is 37.
  8. So we should expect that you won't get angry when Aaron Miles bobbles a grounder, because players are going to make errors, and we should just get over it, right? Why would he get mad? He's a Brewer's fan.
  9. Manny Acta is not incompetent. I'm pretty sure Al Pedrique is. After watching him for a year in Washington, he's not a good manager.
  10. The order most wanted by me: Ned Yost Manny Acta Phil Garner Bob Melvin Dave Clark Al Pedrique Randy Ready Brad Mills or Tim Bogar The first 3 are known to be incompetent, with special nods to Yost and Acta, Melvin and Clark are not good, the last 4 I don't know much about and might be decent or good.
  11. Stuck in the mat behind the OF fence. No, it hung over the wall in mid-air as the universe tried to reject a Neifi Perez grand-slam.
  12. That was against St Louis in extra innings. (In STL)
  13. How about Alf bumping the umpire after Alou hit a fair ball called foul, and the Cubs winning 4 of 5 in four days from the Cards. Also, Darin Erstad looking like a complete fool striking out on a pitch 3-ft outside to end Z's no-no. Speaking of the Rockies, how about the one last year where the Cubs were down 9-1, that had Fukudome and Edmonds go back-to-back, and DeRo homering to put the Cubs ahead after Edmonds brought them within one with a double.
  14. Gutierrez fell down!
  15. If the Cubs had traded for Grienke, he would now be out of baseball in a mental facility, Murton and Pie would be All-Stars, and we would all be lamenting the trade.
  16. At least according to Cot's, Wells only made around $5 to $6 million this year. Next year is when his contract goes off the deep end.
  17. And Cox will be gone after next season Tony could be on the move Scioscia isn't going anywhere soon Gardenhire might be on the edge if things don't get better the fact that Guillen is still a manager is hilarious The last two aren't going anywhere Really? I mean, I don't necessarily want to disagree, I'm just curious as to why you think this. He's won 94-90-92-83-96-79-88-82(so far) games and the Twins are only two games out of first place currently. All this in Minnesota, doesn't seem like a reason to be on the edge. If Gardenhire gets let go we need to convince Piniella to retire. I don't mean this year or even next, but if they don't make the next step towards the playoffs/WS, I could see the front office firing him in order to convince the fans they are "trying," especially after losing Mauer. That, and his contract only goes till 2011, so he may decide he wants to go somewhere else.
  18. Falling asleep in your office does not count as working till one, Lou.
  19. NL MYP: Pujols CY: Lincecum ROY: Happ MOY: Riggleman... ha, probably Tracy AL: MVP: THE CAPTAIN... will probably win it because voters are stupid, but Mauer should. CY: Greinke. ROY: Bailey MOY: Scioscia

  21. Although it looks like they have updated already.
  22. Mare missed 2 FG's and Gould missed 1. The 1 Gould missed should have never been kicked, and the Bears should have punted to pin Seattle deep in their own territory. Had they done that, Im pretty confident Seattle doesnt drive the length of the field for a TD. Of course, if the Hillenmyer knows how to tackle the Seahawks probably only get a FG instead of a 39-yrd td... That was more on Tillman, imo, but yeah...that was bad. I was going to add the second player but I couldn't remember who it was. Yeah, that was probably one of the most pathetic attempts at a tackle I've ever seen.

  24. That's pretty common with this team. The defense is fundamentally unsound. Can't tackle, can't cover, too many stupid penalties.
