  3. Southern Illinois made the Sweet 16 in 2007. Bradley in 2006. They keep saying MVC champion, I think that's the rub. Ah, so they are trying to stretch to find some amazing fact and acting like no MVC has made it.

  6. Theriot singles and scores on a Colvin single in the first. Atleast, thats what I get from the "live" box score. No point in really keep updating as the box score is the only way to follow today's game.

  8. Steve Downie already tried today:
  9. Ryan Clark resigns with the Steelers.
  10. I like this Marmol. Hopefully he is the one that shows up all year, and not the wild one.
  11. I disagree. It's been great as far as I'm concerned. Silva was horrid (which is a GOOD thing at this point) and soriano had a nice defensive play. I like what I've seen. At this point, the Cubs should just cut him. You've already sunk the money, all he can be is a detriment to the team.
  12. Hey now, that's not nice. I feel bad for Hunter. So, the Cubs should hire Millar for player development, apparently.
  13. We traded two first-round picks for a guy who threw 26 interceptions. And he definitely won't have several more years of playing time from which we might be able to more accurately analyze him. Nope, 26 INTs in year one. Loser. It can also be said like this: The Bears traded two first round picks for a 26 yr old probowler who threw 27 TD's and for 3600+ yds.

  15. Bob Costas just said Nickelback and Avril Lavigne are performing at the closing party, so I assume you're right. I watched it for a minute and could only keep thinking, "wtf, Canada?"
  16. It seemed more exciting in Turin. The conditions are really slowing things down.
  17. It isn't even the video, because you don't see much. The sound is what really makes you cringe.
  18. That's a good question. There already were competitors who voiced concerns about the extreme conditions of the track before the events of today. I'm not sure if there's another track available off-site or something. Not that far to Calgary, which still has its track.
  19. That was an excellent game today. You don't [expletive] with Ovechkin. for me, ovechkin is now in pujols/lebron territory as the guy who is just on a completely different level than everybody else in his sport. ovechkin's numbers this year projected over an 82 game season: 68 goals 71 assists 139 points +66 come on. guys don't put those numbers up anymore yah, but other NHL teams and players are required to play defense. something ovechkin doesnt do Well then, clearly he sucks.
  20. Yes. Players in the minors don't count against the cap. However, the player has to be a two-way player in order to be sent to the minors. Can a player reject a trip to minor leagues? Why haven't we suggested doing this in the past with him or Campbell? It sounds sketchy if the Hawks trade for Thomas and then drop Huet to Rockford. I feel like the league office would frown on that behavior. Depends on the contract. I don't know what Huet's is like.
  21. Yes. Players in the minors don't count against the cap. However, the player has to be a two-way player in order to be sent to the minors.
  22. Bradley finally got rid of (he retired) Dewey Kalmer, which helped.
  23. I've only seen two. I haven't seen any.
  24. Not a bad trade for the A's. They get a 27 (in May) yr old 3rd baseman/UT who OPSed .855 in the minors and while he didn't have success under Baker, with a proper hitting coach he could do better. They only take on about another 1.3 mil from Miles to Tavares, which isn't a lot to write off these days.
