  1. Damn, too hard off the wall for Tucker to score and not high enough to get over, now that bad luck......
  2. Im still curious as to what will happen with him next season with no more ESPN games. Will he do more games or what will he choose to do if whomever takes over for ESPN wants to hire him, will he be able to still do Cubs games? Anyone know when his Cubs contract expires?
  3. Id be ok with this if Wiggins wasn't involved, but not sure if Alcantara just going to magically turn his season around for himself the final 2 months. Id rather see how close they can be to adding Skenes with this group involved. I agree trades gonna cost a little more for them cause teams know they need another quality starter and they do have talented prospects that are ready to near ready to be up.
  4. Cubs hitters were told to speed up today game to make up for the long one Sunday 😏😏 This is ridiculous, guy at 60 pitches through 5
  5. Lotta teams still in WC mode, there should be some movement after the break
  6. Seeing many of these laughable proposals
  7. Those are my hopefully untouchable, but if one of them does get traded I just hope it not for a rental piece and the player will make a huge difference not just this season but will also going forward.
  8. That goes for most teams and if they do lose a regular for a significant amount of time that replacement will come from Iowa like McGuire did for Amaya, so it not the bench that you need to have be a acceptable replacement it the talent it Iowa where you need to hope theyre not just talented but ready to step in and fill that role. This said I more then agree that these bench guys outside of McGuire are terrible and useless.
  9. There's 3 prospects i personally hope they dont trade. Caissie, Rojas, and Wiggins I think those 3 will have very good mlb future and hope it with the Cubs.
  10. My bad i didn't scroll down far enough to see that post about the Redsox
  11. I know this is for SP but as far as a bullpen addition goes, If the Redsox who are now 3 games out of a WC spot fall further back by the deadline and decide to become sellers, you know who would be a nice addition to go with Palencia at the back end of the bullpen Aroldis Chapman, hes having a terrific season 53 Ks in 36 IP 1.25 ERA and 0.78 WHIP. Being a LHer he'd be perfect fir what the Cubs need and he'd be a rental so it shouldn't cost must in prospects to get him.
  12. With Wicks now and Horton, as much as im happy to have two young pitchers pitching well, I just hope that not a reason for Hoyer to not go get a stud starter. They definitely need to replace Rea with a top end starter if they can get one, cause August and September gonna be big boy baseball time and who knows what to expect out of Wicks and especially Horton as he builds up the innings/pitches in his rookie season.
  13. Serious and curious question if you or anyone knows and I have wondered this for a while... When they came up with these stats of probabilities, how did they determine that certain balls hit should of/ could of been hits but weren't because of bad luck ? Obviously not all fielded balls are results of great fielding, so what is their determination of this.
  14. Yep, used this opportunity like a bullpen day for him and he should be ready to start Friday.
  15. With off day tomorrow got to get him into a game to stay fresh.
  16. Look, my original post was just about how Happ has been struggling the last month and that he shouldn't be leading off now. Im just not buying what you're selling that the results of his last 100+ AB has been the result of simply bad luck.
  17. Bad luck 😅😅😅 Sorry, had too. Lol
  18. Exactly this.. These stats are more about would of could of and bad luck.. So it kinda like saying if the position player wasn't standing here or there the ball would of dropped in. At the end of the day, these players get paid based on results not how much bad luck they had because a ball they hit was fielded by a player who was positioned right.
  19. Im not gonna argue.. Most of these new age stats are based on would of, could of, and we'll just call it bad luck. We all know the bottom line is the results and his results hasn't been all that great the last month or so despite these weird stats of would of, could of bad luck. A handful of games of bad luck of some balls dropping here and there ok, but we're far pass that now. So, we can leave this as we both have different views on a struggling player. You can go with the funky stats, ill stick with shows actual results. I'll also add in that i doubt any GM looks at those type of stats when it comes to a FA or paying a guy over what their actual results were.
  20. If they had a decent enough backup he could take a couple days off.
  21. They came into the season with it being sort of a rebuild year, I think this series has just reminded them that they should stick to that plan. Brewers dont usually spend much to upgrade and with their upcoming schedule the rest of month which ends with the Cubs, hopefully there will be enough distance between the two teams after that series that they decide not to do much of anything at the deadline.
