  1. Should eat into this bullpen today, which could bold well for tomorrow, but they need to add on and not let Quintana go 4-5 innings.
  2. Swanson should of went straight to 2B on that pop up instead of running all the way in, same with PCA, don't know what he was doing out there besides watching. Should of had the force out at 2B easily on that
  3. No Vaughn tonight, so they got a chance 🙄🙄
  4. Let win a ballgame, I really don't want them to get swept. Hopefully Taillon continues to pitch well and these hitters can figure out a way to get 4-5 runs on the board.
  5. Would be a perfect day for Imanaga to start off of 6 days rest, which could of happened if Counsell didn't start Boyd Game1. 🙄
  6. Just spitballing names from the FA list, it was Gray.
  7. I wasn't agreeing with the names just the positions, SP, bullpen, bench. Right, I think theyll basically sign guys for 1 to 3 yrs at most this offseason, and id be surprised if they go 4+ with any new FA. unless like i mentioned above if Imanaga has the choice and chooses FA then they would likely go after a multi year SP to replace him. I hope im wrong, I just feel theyre going to keep the guarenteed contracts limited going into the 2026 offseason with the possibility of a work stoppage and new cba having a cap. As of now they just have Swanson guarenteed pass 2027
  8. That what I'm looking at too, so what were we disagreeing on? Lol
  9. I can see the Cubs not picking up their end of that option and leaving it in his hand to either takes the 2 years or FA, and If he leaves then they could use his money to go after Cease Valdez etc.
  10. Who are they spending it on though ? You think Tucker returns? You think they'll spend 20+ mil on one of the FA SP? Outside of RF the other positions are filled barring a trade Not saying payroll going to stick at around 175, but there's limited roster spots available for them to add onto, im just not sure they'll go get a guy or two that looking for 20+ on a multi year deal to add that 50 mil to the payroll.
  11. Did you add in the Arbs? But still, who are they going to spend it on outside of getting an OFer that would probably start in RF (if they keep Suzuki as mostly DH) until Caissie is ready and a SP for depth ? Maybe a depth reliever or two. They might overpay to get their guy(s) on a shorter deal which would bump the payroll up, but i just dont see any openings, barring trades, to the roster for them to add significant costly players.
  12. My guess would be very little, mainly because most of their roster is filled already and they have a couple guys in system ready or close to ready, coming up in 2026. They'll probably add a veteran OFer for the bench and a SP for depth, maybe bullpen depth.
  13. Like I said, they just went through the motions after falling behind like they did.
  14. Why it made zero sense to start Boyd on 3 days rest. They had Civale, Soroka, Rea, and could of even had Assad in that mix to get them through that first game.
  15. That the thing with Happ, he hits in spurts all season, so him in the postseason, you have to hope it his hot time and he's hitting during a series.
  16. They'll sign a couple guys that'll get money for a year or two but not more than that. Theyll get someone like Pham Marte or Kepler to play RF until Caissie is ready and overpay them for a year or two, same with a SP that they may go 3 yrs on but I doubt we'll see a 4+ year deal with anyone. Realistically outside of RF and maybe a bench guy, unless trades are made the position players are all returning. SP is basically set with Steele return in May/June, Horton, Imanaga, Taillon, Boyd, Assad, Rea club option so they probably just look to add one SP. So, not sure if payroll will go up from this season but it'll probably be close to or a bit less then where it at this season
  17. As far as the Cubs goes, i think theyll basically stay as is this offseason and not sign anyone of significant to a multi years deal, and depending on where theyre at in standings, unload the guys with expiring contracts at the deadline for prospects and basically go into the 2026 offseason with minimal guarenteed contracts for 2027 and beyond
  18. Wish I seen this before I made my post lol Why can I see TR telling Hoyer to not pick it up and put it in Imanaga hand to either take the 2/30 or go to FA 🙄🙄
  19. Game... Brewers are amped, cubs just going through the motions
  20. I was looking at Cots, they just show 15/15/ option They'll definitely pick up 2026 and 2027
  21. Depends on how he pitches the next 2 seasons, and what they have in the rotation and potentially waiting to come up from the minors. He'll be 34 in 2028, so if he not getting it done, it an easy choice to let him go
