Be cool if they can get a second 10 game W streak tonight . the record for multiple 10+ game winning streak in a season , held by multiple teams is twice, it only May so the Cubs have an opportunity to tie tonight and break that record.

All im saying is, I dont think Shaw is inked to be an OD outfielder as of now. And yes, if it between Shaw and Alcantara, I feel Hoyer would prefer Alcantara be that guy right now, obviously his K rate would need to improve, but his power has increased, and he has a good glove. I think Hoyer would like to keep Shaw as that super sub guy if hes not traded for a SP.

Just saying i think as of now Alcantara is more likely ahead of Shaw as being an OD outfielder (not saying hes getting a spot, just saying between the two), obviously it could change by the offseason but I just dont feel Shaw is inked in as of today.

I dont see nor do I think Hoyer sees Shaw inked in as an OD OFer for 2027. I actually think as of now Alcantara would be ahead of Shaw to get an OF spot, since Suzuki return Shaw only been in OF twice. So, I think if a team asks is for Shaw, i believe Hoyer would trade him to get that big SP in return

Brown is starting tomorrow, doesn't say if bullpen game or how many pitches he can go. My guess is theyll have Assad follow

Rea already part of rotation, Brown has been a great asset to the bullpen, and Assad has been beneficial as a SP depth / bullpen arm. So, you keep what been working with those 3 and go shopping for a guy who can hold it down for however long needed as the 5th starter. Can't just hope guys will be returning in 2-3 weeks and just try to stay afloat with who they have until then, they take Brown and Assad out of the role theyre doing now, that means they need to weaken the pen and SP depth they have left and will need to add guys like Hollowell, Thornton, etc type to fill out the pen until the injured returns.
