  1. Again that all cool and all but results matter at some point, and this is a 23 yo rookie who is pressing and losing confidence by the day. Someone mentioned about being glad im not management, can you imagine a roster some of you would have built with the all "bad luck" team ? You'd be down in the standings with the Rockies and Whitesox, but it ok cause it just bad luck 🤷‍♂️ I would love to see this kid succeed but to continue to run him out there everyday and drop 0fers, just isnt doing him and his confidence level any good, eventually a decision has to be made and I personally feel it would be best to give him a pause for now like they did with Happ in 2019. I bet if Hoyer went and added a solid 3Bmen at the deadline nobody would be complaining on here.
  2. We joke about his power but this is the Nico we want to see, driving balls through the infield and in the gaps. He would actually be a solid leadoff hitter in the 80s with his base stealing speed if he played then.
  3. Why, you'd rather have a 23yo rookie continue to struggle and look lost at the plate for what ? He has 10 hits in his last 83 AB, 1 in his last 25. There's no good reason to just let this kid continue to look lost at the plate now. He can go down til the end of Iowa season and return in September when rosters expand and get a fresh start, not like it hasn't been done before, they did it with Happ in 2019 and that was his 3rd year with them, he went down for 100 games that season before returning.
  4. Unless Shaw has a big series in NewYork, have to think he starts the second half in Iowa and somebody from Iowa comes up to play 3B until Hoyer gets a replacement. I know when I mentioned this before I was told he has nothing to gain by playing in Iowa as he dominates there, but i just feel that it would be beneficial for him to just finish the season in Iowa and find himself again mentally and just get that confidence built back up while working with the coaches there. It cant hurt and it better then having the kid just lose total confident in himself at this level by struggling everyday and pressing harder then normal because they are a playoff team and not a rebuilding one.
  5. I've said it a few times lately, just wish Counsell would hit Swanson leadoff for now as he is hot, just not getting the hits with a RISP, and with Happ hitting with bad luck the last month, he should move down and hope to have better luck.(😏)
  6. Lmao, yea she has that factor, she definitely has to be fun to hang with. Why boog goes all teenagery when she's around 😅😅😅
  7. Part of why I see today game being big in a way that you'd hate for them to get on the plane to NY after getting swept by a team they easily should of take 2 of 3 from. Mentally they have to be like WTF and now we gotta face the damn Yankees in NewYork, but at least with a win today they can take a deep breath, they have their two best starters going Saturday and Sunday and can have a positive trip.
  8. I know it's batting average and not the metrics some of you love but.... July 2025 Happ: 2-for-27 (.074) Tucker: 6-for-27 (.222) Suzuki: 8-for-30 (.267) PCA: 10-for-33 (.303) Swanson: 11-for-33 (.333) Busch: 15-for-30 (.500) Hoerner: 5-for-27 (.185) Kelly: 5-for-15 (.333) McGuire: 2-for-11 (.182) Shaw: 1-for-22 (.045) It amazing that they are 5 and 3 in July but as you can see the top 3 and bottom 3 of order has been struggling so far. Happ needs to be taken out of leadoff spot and moved down, Swanson is hot despite not coming through with guys on base, maybe just switch them two in Newyork and see what happens.
  9. Only one way to find out.. I agree with you but you dont know til they actually get an opportunity, I get what Turner brings off the field, and think they should just give him an injury and IL him if he prefers to stay over being released. But, I'd take my chances with a couple of guys from Iowa over Berti and Brujan any day.
  10. I personally feel they need better then just a MOR arm as a start, they need, if they can get, a guy who can slot between Imanaga and Boyd. They also can use another Starter if they wanna push Rea out of the rotation and I hope they do. I'd like to see them have a rotation in August of Imanaga, TOR type, Boyd, inning eater, Horton. They could use a backend reliever to help Palencia and keep him fresh, preferably LHed. Lastly, a 3Bmen that can slot in the middle of lineup between PCA and Busch would be ideal. Be nice if they can add a power bat for the bench and a super utility guy that can give outfielders and middle infielders a breather here and there but not counting on it, I think we'll probably just see a couple guys from Iowa come up to fill that need.
  11. Didn't we just go through this a couple weeks when they went from being up like 6 games to 2 in a matter of a week and then boom they got it back up to 5. But yea, did not expect to lose 2 game to the Brewers during these series , hopefully tomorrow they'll get 1 back and both the Dodgers and Cubs will take care of Buisness.
  12. Correct, it is amazing theyre where theyre at with having key injuries to the rotation, and having multiple bats going through struggles for long periods of time. Let just hold hitting that panic button for a couple more weeks and see how they respond to start the second half and what Hoyer does to upgrade where it's needed.
  13. Boy, not much fight those last 2 innings from the top of order on down. 4 games left til break, be cool if they can find a way to at least split them, then take a deep breath and start the second half. No panic but it would be nice if during the break Hoyer can give these guys a positive shot in arm with a solid acquisition to give them a little boost.
  14. That the frustrating thing about Happ is that he can look so good for a handful or so of games and make you think he's gonna be ok and then in a blink of an eye he just cant find holes for weeks. This season though, yea he hit 9 homers in June to give himself a respectable total of 12 but he hasn't done much hitting overall since May.
  15. He pinched hit for Berti with 2 outs, likely hoping he could get lucky and hit #201 and cut lead to 1 there.
  16. Should of played this last one the same way and held him to a single 🤷‍♂️🙃 lol
  17. I dont know if it laziness but yea he hasn't really played some balls well the last month.
  18. Sign of a struggling offense that didn't take advantage for a big inning but did just enough to get 2 home.
  19. 5th batter 😓 Overall after getting first two guys on and both scoring 🙃
