It actually Tuesday but he will face the Brewers in the 2nd game. Tomorrow im guessing is the bullpen game or Brown unless they have a surprise for us 🤷♂️

Imagine going 33-13 over that same stretch and still not be in first place 🤷♂️😅 It'll come down to the last 8 head to head games between these two and August should favor the Cubs schedule wise and after roster upgrades at the trade deadline. That 5 game series at home against the Brewers gonna be rocking.

For postseason purposes that exactly what they could use, another late inning arm to help Palencia and keep him fresh, dont want what happened to Chapman (burnout) happen again because of overused.

So it Horton tomorrow and not a bullpen game. So is guess bullpen Monday against the Royals and then either BP or new addition SP on Sunday against the Sox 🤷♂️ Just glad they'll have their 3 best going against the Brewers with Boyd Rea Imanaga.

Ok, we're only talking probably 2 AB versus Bello. So again, I get the splits and that would work if Brujan was decent but given the choice, id rather have the guy who has the better glove over a guy who will likely have the same outcome as him at the plate. 🤷♂️

If Brujan had a heartbeat of success this season then it would be fine, just seems dumb to choose him over just sticking with Shaw and his defense despite what he does with the couple of AB against Bello.

Yea, the alternative isnt better then just sticking with the kid, especially since he gives them a much better glove defensively where that can make more of a difference in the game then hoping Brujan can do something positive with the bat.

Have to be trading him soon, no other reason to bench him today after a week off and hitting the ball well yesterday.

Gonna come down to head to head games against each other. 3 at end of month in Milwaukee and 5 in Mid August at home. They both have 65 games left, just beat them H to H and at the very least stay even in the other 57. Hopefully in August the Cubs can put some distance between them to where September can become not if but when they clinch the division and a top 2 record.

Yep that would be nice. The schedule favors the Cubs as far as teams they both play til then, so yea if they cant add at least 2 more to the lead by then it'll be somewhat disappointing, especially if it because the Cubs didn't play well.
