    Watching Boyd conference yesterday and seeing him today greeting family outside the stadium, this guy going to have alot of emotions with every pitch today. I hope they get a few on the board early and let him groove for 5-6 innings

    That was the biggest killer to me, Sanderson should of never gotten a start that series. Frey should of went with the kill in Game 4 with Sutcliffe and if that didn't go well he had Trout for Game 5, and the Padres did not hit lefties well that year and Trout was hot.

    Nope.. RCal was correct about the West getting home field in 1984 because they alternated back then. If the Cubs had made the WS, the commissioner Bowie Kuhn had said that the Cubs would be able to play their games at WF during the day.

    Have to think now with both just getting 5 days rest, that Boyd will go Game 1 and Imanaga Game 2. I think Taillon and Rea will be the guys for Game 3

    Didn't realize dansby had that many steals, so yea having 3 guys reach that mark is cool, especially more cause the cubs aren't usually a base stealing team through the years

    All the above... September hasn't been all that great with injuries, pitching, hitting, and defense. These two games against the Padres can be a swift kick in the nuts with embarrassing losses for the cubs

    I dont think Caissie will start the season with the Cubs, but I think he will come up to stay ( if he's plays well in Iowa) at some point during the season. Why i think theyll sign an OFer to play right with Suzuki and at some point in the season if hes ready, Caissie will come up.

    Probably bench, bullpen, an OFer who can play RF until Caissie is ready. Maybe a SP if Steele not ready by ST
