They sure were early on... Coming off the 1998 season, and with the offense they had going into the season. They started out hot but had a midseason collapse

Cubs need to score 5+ most of these games just to have a chance. starters and pen are usually going to give up at least 2+ a game.

1999 Cubs were the worse.. They had 5 starters with 10+ starts all with ERA over 5.00. Team ERA for season was 5.27 Micah Bowie made 11 starts and had an ERA of 9.96 Rod Beck ERA was 7.80 in 31 games Sammy had 63 homers that year
