  1. Needed that extra .3 on the swing..lol What was difference on pitch speed
  2. Damn, hate leaving runner on 2B when he gets there with 0 outs.
  3. I hope not, the next bullpen game would be the Sunday before the Brewers series and it would be dumb to possibly use up a bunch of pen arms to get through 9 innings. If no trade has been made in time to insert them in rotation, then I'd rather see them go with Brown and or Wicks to start the game and piggy back.
  4. They all went on a long vacation together 😅😅😅
  5. Shaw basically has 2 weeks to show the bosses they can count on him the rest of season.
  6. That been my hope, and before we get attacked, I know about the NTC.
  7. Just saw they signed Spencer Turnbull, maybe they just go with him on Sunday🤷‍♂️😅
  8. That what I've been reading too.. Makes sense if the plan is to get solid returns, I just hope Caissie isnt involved unless it for a solid TOR with a couple years left on their contract.
  9. I hope it lines up this way, if they had went with Imanaga-Boyd these first two games they both would of pitched games 2 and 3 in Brewers series. So, just as long as both Imanaga and Boyd are set to pitch against the Brewers im good. I dont know what theyre gonna do for Sunday, but with the off day next Thursday, and the deadline 2 week from today, this better be the last time we see a bullpen game or an opener the rest of this season. Let win a ballgame today and start the second half on a good note this weekend
  10. I think Hoyer will end up getting a guy like Moncada, he'll be a cheap rental as far as money owed and likely wont cost him any of his better prospects. It will also allow Shaw an opportunity to return as a starter more then having Castro would, if that something Hoyer would want.
  11. Lmao, is this the new tie breaker, a HR contest 😅😅😅😅
  12. Only in an AS game youll see a closer smiling and laughing after giving up 2 runs in the 9th to tie the game...lol
  13. Wasn't able to watch, how did the robo ump thing go ? 16 K and 5 BB total seem kinda on the low end
  14. Is there 1 or 2 guys from this draft that has a chance to make an impact on majors league roster within the next 2-3 years
  15. Seems unusual that they have only chosen OFers so far as position picks, usually it SS.
  16. I just have a hard time understanding how they know for sure that it will result in a hit 57% of the time. I have no problem with telling a hitter great job you hit the ball hard keep it up cause eventually they'll start dropping, I just dont get how they come up with these percentages. No biggie
  17. OK, I can buy that example if that how they're coming up with their numbers by using past results of balls hit that hard and in that exact location.
  18. OK, but how exactly do they know 57 of them would of been a hit for sure ? Isn't that just an assumption to think that if Swanson hit that ball exactly the way he did 99 more times that it would fall in 57 times and not fielded ? I just find that hard to accept because a fielder is likely going to play him the same way and will likely be positioned to field that ball. I just want to know how they know for sure that that ball will drop 57% of time?
  19. Unlucky or just guys not coming through with a big hit. I know the answer I'll get but I think that this is what separates me from most of you guys on here that loves these sabermetric stats, I look at the actual results. I asked before and didn't get an answer if anyone knows, what exactly do they use to determine that a ball that was fielded for an out was expected to be a hit ? Like with above xBA, is that supposed to mean that almost half the Cubs outs should of been hits and why should they have been hits if fielders are positioned right and make the playoffs? I have to leave now and won't be back til later tonight, so not asking to argue or disrupt the game thread just a curious question and will look for responses and discuss tonight when I return. Go Cubs, Imanaga pitching awesome so far, let get some runs and a W today
