  1. Funny, for 3 months we were all wishing we had a 3rd basemen who could hit with the rest of the bats, we got that now since the break with Shaw but everyone else stopped hitting. Almost like a deal was made with the 😈 Get us a 3rd baseman that can hit no matter what it takes, and it took everyone else's production 🙄🙄🙄 Maybe we should return the ask 🤣😆
  2. Didn't even get a chance to send my comment about Horton and the Cubs are already on the field again 🙄 😒🙄🙄 Just gonna say Horton reminding me of what we were watching with another #22 years ago when he was healthy.
  3. Right, they got the position player everyone wanted in Castro to help them in that department, so like you said theres no excuse for the hitters to all turn into Jason Heyward for the last 30 plus games. They added a couple bullpen arms that was needed. So the only let down was having the SP they got get hurt in his first start but getting Taillon back should give them a boost. Bottom line though, they all just need to put their big boy jock on and go out there and start doing the little things to win baseball games again.
  4. Taillon pitched today for Iowa so he'll likely get a game on Monday against Milwaukee. That series SP rotation looks to be Taillon and Horton on Monday for the Double Header, Boyd on Tuesday, Rea on Wednesday, and Imanaga on Thursday. So at least the Cubs will have their 5 starters going and not a bullpen game or a rookie making his first start. 3 of 5 would be the low end goal, obviously 4 or sweep will go a very long way with getting back into having a solid chance at 1st place. Hopefully baseball will baseball and that scale starts to tip this weekend heading into that series and the cubs go on their run and the Brewers start to experience losing again. 🤷‍♂️😆
  5. I wouldn't say his season is mediocre, but it is a bit disappointing overall especially after the first three months he had, looking like a 30/30 guy with a solid average, 900 OPS, and driving in 100 RBI. July and first couple weeks of August he turned into Jason Heyward with the bat 🤷‍♂️
  6. They'll probably offer 10/300 and lose out to a team that'll offer something around 12/360. Id be very surprised if he gets 400 mil unless he has a big September.
  7. Just realized, yea im slow..lol Cubs bench now has a super utility player, 2 catchers, and an old Fossil 😅😅😅 So much flexibility there 🤪🤪🤪😅
  8. Caissie might not start the year in RF cause Jed will likely sign someone like Tommy Pham on a 2 year deal to hold down RF til May when they bring Caissie up. I already have my way way too early vision on what next year roster will likely look like.
  9. Happ will likely hit his solo shots tonight for his birthday and make his fans happy. 😅
  10. Right, id be more pissed at these hitters then Assad
  11. This is where they have been troubling lately. Bottom guys get on base and top 3 in order hasn't been able to get them home
  12. Ok, but the discussion wasn't about the SP being an issue on the field, it was about Hoyer not addressing the depth need there at the deadline.
  13. That cool but just because theyre pitching well doesn't mean they didnt/dont need SP depth going into the deadline. You're lying if youre going to say they didn't
  14. Yes it annoying more so because the Brewers with basically the same guys that they have had all season, have turned into the 1927 Yankees the last 6 weeks, then the Cubs just keeping their head above water during that span. What didn't help and aggravating is Jed not addressing the SP need at the deadline with someone that could of given them a spark but instead added a guy that had injury concerns, likely because he didn't cost much in prospects. That wasn't the time to take a chance on a guy and hope to fix his problem, and especially since he was the only SP you got to help a rotation that needed two SP to begin with.
  15. Was meaning more if the Brewers go on and take 4 or sweep that series, and the way they caught and separated themselves from the cubs in the second half. But yes, a playoff series which could be in the NLCS between these two could be a real fun watch
  16. Since July 1st cubs are 18-16 which would normally be ok, but for the Brewers being on a crazy run over that span, theyre 27-8, on a 10 game win streak, and have only loss 4 games since the ASB going 18-4. So if cubs had won 3 more games and Brewers loss 3 more over that span, there would be less freaking out with fans..lol So, who knows what will happen over these final 45 games for these 2 teams, and I dont know if the Cubs will win 7 more then the Brewers over this stretch but I dont doubt that the cubs will continue to play over 500 baseball and will make the postseason. Beating Brewers in playoff, how many times have we seen over the years especially since the WC started where the dominant team between the two playing during the season ends up losing in a playoff series between the two.. happens alot So, im not gonna tell anyone how to fan and yes the Cubs are just threading water the last 35 games but theres still 45 games left to play, including 5 against the Brewers, this series could likely determine whether or not the Cubs can still have a shot at the Division or pretty much bury them. But even if they get buried for the Division, they still have the WC and outside of a total melt down for them and the Reds or Cardinals playing like the Brewers, i just dont see either teams making up the 8-9 games theyre back in the loss column in just 45 games.
