  1. Nope, teams will just say it was his finger and the cubs stupidity of not shutting him down for 10 days to give it a chance to heal when it happened .
  2. I doubt they ever planned on signing Tucker.. It not hard to see what the plan is for the next 2 years with this team and to why Hoyer got the extension. Theyll go into the offseason just adding a few pieces to fill out the roster and get them to the 2026 trade deadline where then they'll do like they did with Rizzo, Bryant, Contreras and Baez, theyll trade the guys that are in final year of contract and we'll see Caissie, Ballesteros, etc getting their opportunity. This will get Ricketts a low payroll heading into the probable 2027 strike season. This is the only thing that makes sense for the way they handled the offseason and this past deadline.
  3. Brewers are playing like the cubs were in April May into June
  4. PCA needs to get back to just hitting like he was doing earlier and not trying to get 40 homeruns on every swing.
  5. I always felt if a team was within 5 games of division on September 1st they had a chance.
  6. Correct on Horton, my thinking was theyll pretty much shut him down if they feel hes going to be a big part of their future, and they'll basically be going with Taillon as the 3rd starter. But agree if they want Taillon to be that guy in the playoffs, they'll need to limit his starts until then. im more worried about a dead tired bullpen then the actual 3-4 man rotation they'll be going with. I think this bullpen is going to get overworked to try and win games from 6th inning on and will be gassed by October.
  7. I feel like he really didn't want to trade any of his significant prospects and Soroka was the best he could get without giving any of them up. They looked at the MRI that Soroka got at the end of July that showed no damage and was just hoping that the drop in velocity was something they could fix, unfortunately they never got the chance. I think best case scenario with Soroka is second or third week in September if it just soreness and rest could help. I do see Hoyer offering him a 2 year deal to return next year as hes just 27, whether he able to start the season with the Cubs or on IL.
  8. Dude just lost the game in Iowa the other day giving up 3 runs in his inning. Do they seriously have nobody better then this to call up now?
  9. They'll make the playoffs, it just they'll likely not get pass the Division round with the pitching they have.
  10. Right, if the cubs play 500 ball the last 50, they'll win 90 games, or if they play 600 ball they'll win 95 games. If the Brewers end up winning more then 95 games then just tip your cap to them as they had an awesome final 4 months of season.
  11. Yea I didn't think so... He on IL and he even said they knew velocity was going down and something was off, thought they could help fix him. I'm telling you, he was probably the cheapest SP they could add as far as prospects given up and that what Hoyer went after.
  12. Im waiting for whomever supposed to be the leaders of this team to go off in the clubhouse, maybe im wrong but it feels like these guys just accept these losses and nobody speaking up in the clubhouse or am I just too old school and that stuff dont happen anymore. I even remember when managers would go out and argue with umps and get tossed to try and get a spark from the players. Now it like everyone just keeps their head down and moves on to the next game 🤷‍♂️ Just frustrating seeing this kind of baseball after looking so good the first couple months, now it like theyre just happy to be hanging on.
  13. Well like yesterday, how fast they gonna end this inning 🙄
  14. This team is dead... 50 games left, theyll get to 90 wins if they go 25-25, not sure if that'll be enough to win the Division with the way the Brewers are playing, but they should make the playoffs. They might get pass the WC round best of 3 with Imanaga and Boyd, not sure if they'll get out of the Division round though.
  15. At least Jed did good on his 2 pen pickup and Castro 🤷‍♂️
  16. Lmao of course.. Tell you this though, Swanson is definitely faster then Happ and outhustles him
  17. 2035 cubs convention, theyll introduce Mike soroka and the fans there will cheer like crazy for him 😅😅😅😅
  18. Guess yesterday walkoff win didn't ignite anything in this team, still playing 500 type baseball
  19. Should be gave up 2 assets that could of been add ons in a better deal
