  1. Why wouldn't they wait till he was non-tendered?
  2. I don't see how that could be a bad thing. Hendry's already telegraphed that he wants Bradley gone at any cost. I don't also want him jumping at the first offer he gets.
  3. Hey, shut up people from Chicago. I want to hear what the high schooler from the whitest state in the union thinks about racism.
  4. well that's sort of obnoxious
  5. They wouldn't move Theriot. They didn't do it for Cedeno and they won't do it for the new guy, either. It would hurt his feelings, or something. It makes a ton of sense, though.
  6. I don't like Erik's plan to make our team older. That's all
  7. You're right. I'm just having a crap day and figured I would take it out on the Cubs. We're cool
  8. Weren't people really high on Cardenas not too long ago?
  9. Maybe this hire would convince them to keep Milton? :pig:
  10. Bruce Miles agrees: Ugh. Given his "over-aggressiveness" stance on hitting, I see this being a return to the hack and slash offense of 05-06. Why doesn't this organization recognize that they had a leading offense in 07 because of OBP? Uhh I think they know that very well, and aren't as convinced as you that Jaramillo's teachings will fly in the face of that philosophy
  11. Perhaps these types of moves don't happen because other teams won't give up enough to make them worthwhile. I'd love to see the Cubs sell high on Theriot but I doubt many teams are beating down Hendry's door. On the other hand, he'd make a great return player to balance out a trade to a small market team that has a SS they won't be able to afford much longer. By himself he wouldn't bring much though. You're probably right, but Marmol would fetch a lot considering how easy he may be to replace within our organization. My point was more (my supposition) that the Cubs wouldn't even be fielding offers/testing the waters with these guys, just because it's non-traditional/disloyal/hurt feelings/whatever else
  12. Trading Marmol or Theriot would be one of those awesome, smart things that this organization would never do.
  13. Can't read this at work. Did the relationship turn sour or something?
  14. I was! I was! It was my first night game and the atmosphere was just unbelievable. I had a seat in the UD to the left of the booth could clearly see Mongo sing, call out the home plate ump, get thrown out, and then get escorted out of the park. And the ending was of course awesome.
  15. I think and hope it's Yankees/Dodgers
  16. I like how with this post you've already excluded all possible Banktobanks contributions
  17. IE 6 is the worst thing ever. Thank God I can use Chrome at work.
  18. Please don't quote erik, I'd prefer to live in ignorance
  19. I like Burrell for the bench only. Could Hawpe REALLY be worse than Burrell in right? It's scary to think of it. I don't like this. Hopefully this is just to start a bidding war.
  20. kinda sounds like God fucked him then
  21. Dan Shullman was much, much better on the radio broadcast.
  22. Not FO, but Riggleman was basically announced as manager before Acta was fired this year
