  1. Yeah I long ago accepted that signing an elite bat (strong preference for Harper) is a necessity, not a luxury. However they get there, it needs to happen. Salary dump as much as possible.
  2. And it still works, hahahahaha
  3. Drinky Joe is phoning it in. Jesus, what an odd decision w/ Gore
  4. Never thought I'd be disappointed by a 90+ win season, but here I am.
  5. So Rizzo doesn't realize he's slow? Is that it?
  6. Yeah, I'm just assuming Brewers are gonna win out.
  7. Reading that made me throw up in my mouth a little. Thanks mojo.
  8. [tweet]https://twitter.com/CarrieMuskat/status/1045079176271794176[/tweet]
  9. No kidding... Yeah, we've been spoiled rotten by all this glorious Cubs winning during my lifetime.
  10. Yeah, horsefeathers this guy. I stand by what I said in a game thread the other day (the fact r_mack threw shade at me for it just cements my sense that I am in the right). [tweet] [/tweet]
  11. DOOM BONER ALERT horsefeathers like this is why I no longer assume anything as far as the Cubs competitive window goes. Who knows what kind of crap like this pops up? And if Bryant's shoulder is a chronic problem going forward?
  12. There definitely are. It's not like having walkover series every damn week like the Indians have had the luxury of getting this year. Still, the 2nd half trends for the Cubs are at least partially disturbing. -2 run differential and 23rd ranked team wRC+ since the break. The rotation, obviously, has gotten much better too though. I think many fans (this one included) are just especially sensitive to crappy offense.
  13. I'd prefer the Brewers lose, of course, but as long as it hurts the Cards, I'll work my way through the grief. I'm unwell in terms of my feelings towards the Cards. I try to let it go since the Cubs are sustainably good now, but it bubbles to the surface sometimes.
  14. Remember when the Cubs used to work the count night after night. Yep, good things happens when your team gets on base a lot due to BBs. 2016 Walk rate: 10.3% 2017 Walk rate: 9.9% 1st half 2018 walk rate: 9.7% 2nd half 2018 walk rate: 7.9% #chilieffect? So they're walking less, but at least they're also hitting for way less power too.
  15. Blechhh, the Cubs have scored 0 or 1 run the 2nd most times this year.
  16. A big time bat this offseason is a necessity, not a luxury.
  17. Lol. Been trying to get it switched to something else and am having issues. Setting up a Gravatar account & uploading an avatar there was the only way I could change mine. :dontknow: No clue why I could neither upload an image nor link to a remote image like I used to.
  18. The Pirates are 12-6 against the Brewers. Thanks Clint.
  19. Bad defense + BABIP magic = Cubs runs I'll take it
  20. So the Cubs have given up on hitting for power this year, and as of late, also not working pitch counts either....just begging for BABIP? Just trying to grasp wtf has gone wrong w/ the offense.
  21. Yeah, spend some time with someone who is the victim of abuse, and such a question won't enter your mind, or at least it shouldn't, IMO.
