Well horsefeathers. The offense sucks & the bullpen can't be trusted, but other than that, it's all good.

A pitcher getting to face Russell then Almora is way too soft of a landing to gift.

So many outs on the bases the past couple months.

The way the offense is going, it might take them a week to score 9 runs.

Granted, they added JD Martinez, so that's helped, but Boston 2017 to Boston 2018 would show that a hitting coach does matter that much. He was there in 2016 too though, and they were better that year than this year in literally everything (HRs, slash line, wOBA, wRC+, etc) I have no idea what it is. Would the presence of David Ortiz in '16 account for that difference?

My smug certainty about the Cubs being a super team has been chipped away here & there the last 18 months. A good team, yes, but not the force I had convinced myself we had after the WS.
