    Well yeah, that's probably a given. However, whether the Padres are on a heater or not, the Cubs haven't exactly played great since the break. I actually feel fortunate the Cubs have the record that they do during this stretch. :dontknow:

    I simply can't grasp why Rizzo isn't getting AB's w/ runners on base with high OBP guys like the pitcher's spot & Addison Russell hitting in front of him.

    Yeah, '16 took the edge off for me too, but the challenge of sustainability beckons. I've lost the thread/feeling this team will be a "super team" but they don't need to be to win the division consistently going forward. Still, I'd be lying if I didn't think after '16 it was possible.

    Javy & Zo have been carrying the offense, so that sucks majorly. Time for the OF to step up & provide some offense.

    Team option for $20 million or $6 million buyout (which would be paid by Rangers). If Cubs elect to bring him back for $20 million, the Rangers are off the hook for any future $$; Cubs would get no salary relief.

    Yep, this bugged. I get the idea of resting guys, but come on, supposedly the 2nd half is when it's pedal to the metal.

    Break up the Padres. They have played the Cubs tough this year regardless of h2h record.

    I'd maybe buy the heavy reliance on the bullpen idea like the Tribe in '16, but I have zero trust Morrow will be there much less dominant.

    I have argued w/ a buddy (big time Almora homer) off and on the past few years that Albert is no more than a 4th OF'er. I might have over-estimated.
