  2. Saying/doing stupid horsefeathers during a WS season doesn't preclude it from being stupid horsefeathers. Why should it be discounted? Unless the argument is process doesn't matter (Theo would be offended by this, hahaha).
  3. Do losing streaks likewise matter? I ask because the Cubs were pretty bad in ST 2016. I recall they went on to do some things that season.
  4. This transition is reminding me that I don't really care that much about the Cubs, or well, sports in general, these days. A small, sometimes insular group here, but without you guys, It'd be much harder for me to know what tv shows & movies to watch and what books to read, among other things.
  5. It feels like The Dream is perpetual wild card contention, so yeah, low 80's expected wins, hope and pray for good luck for better.

  7. I’ve always been a fan and like the profile, maybe now that he’s older it won’t happen, but I always thought there’d be a slight power increase getting out of SF too. One of the downsides will be potentially hearing let's go Brandon chanted extremely obnoxiously by some fans lol.
  8. I easily watched less than 50 innings of Cubs baseball in 2022. I watched at least 5x that much of other baseball.
  9. It was $10 million, I think.
  10. Hahahaha so many "whew! Glad the Cubs didn't spend this much on this guy!" messages in a Cubs fan chat thread I'm part of. Ricketts appreciates all the fans looking out for him.

  13. For me (to be clear, I don't care about the Bears very much), it would depend on why they are winning; who's getting it done. Much like the Cubs winning because of variance in performance by back benchers like Esteban Quiroz or Frank Schwindel for that matter, not very exciting unless it's the actual good young talent doing it. I know plenty of fans who disagree vehemently with me on this though.

  15. Sometimes I miss caring about sports in general as much as I used to. [tweet] [/tweet]
  16. The most I've cared about big league wins & losses since like June is seeing the Cards and Mets got knocked out. Screw both of them.

  18. Isn't Portnoy basically Clay Travis-light?
  19. Kink shaming. Despicable.
  20. horsefeathers the Mets. One of the few moments of me caring about the Cubs as of late.
