No, they should have TRADED Hill, back when everyone in baseball was under the impression he was the real deal. (Wasn't he the most sought after Cub prospect this offseason?) Now they'll be doing their usual move of selling low. I'd rather see them give Hill one more shot to prove himself. (Though I have my doubts whether he'll ever be as good as Hendry seemed to think.) have you seen hill's numbers over the past month or so? he's been one of the two or three best pitchers in all of minor league baseball this year, and he's doing it in a great hitter's league. not every team in baseball is as short-sighted and impatient as you (or dusty baker), and they realize that a handful of bad big league outings doesn't mean the guy's career is over. hill still has a lot of trade value. and i wish they'd trade him. Agreed. Hill is tearing up the minor leagues right now and I wouldn't be opposed to giving him another shot at the ML level. As I said before with Guzman, the season is lost anyway so we might as well give Hill another shot if we're going to give Guzman another shot. I would tell each that they have 4 or 5 starts so they don't have to worry about having one bad start and being sent back down because of it.
