    I wish it was August already. One month closer to the disaster we call a baseball season and one month closer to the start of college football.

    Steve also said that the Cubs were about to resign Maddux. Hendry doesn't want to fire Dusty cause it makes him look bad. Dusty will make it through the year and then Hendry will say the Cubs are going to go in a different direction. HEY, JIM HENDRY. Yeah, you. Grow a set of testicles and just fire Dusty already. I'm sick and tired of the stupid power trip that you're on. It is so unbelievably aggravating, you have no idea. Virtually every informed Cub fan on the planet knows that Dusty needs to go. JUST DO IT ALREADY YOU FAT IDIOT. /rant. Note: This rant was twice as long before I edited it and removed all the expletives from it.

    I wish I was rich enough to get a group of people together outside Wrigley to buy tickets off of people to keep them out of the game. If I buy 5000 tickets from people, then that's 5000 empty seats at the game. Think that might get the point across? If only I had the money...

    Well, unfortunately UC Davis doesn't get to play Stanford this year. We'll still pound Sac State in the Causeway Classic by 30 like we usually do. Hopefully we'll pull out a victory over Cal Poly as well. Other than that, I just hope for another winning season (we currently have 36 consecutive winning seasons) since we aren't eligible for the postseason yet as it is our final transition year. EDIT: And I will be pulling against Notre Dame as usual.

    Bill Callahan is the biggest joke of a coach in the history of football. Believe me, he will screw up your program. I guarantee it. And yes, I am a Raiders fan.

    I totally agree with you. He was an embarrassment out there. Congrats to La France. Ronaldhino wasn't exactly lighting it up either. France deserved this win. They totally outplayed Brazil in every facet of the game. I totally agree with you. Ronaldinho didn't do a thing in the whole tournament. I don't know if you took it this way, but I wasn't trying to blame Ronaldo, and only Ronaldo, for Brazil's loss. I just felt that for a world class striker to attempt to draw a foul every single time a Frenchman came at him was just completely lame. The whole Brazilian team didn't show up until the 80th minute today and, as I said earlier, just looked complacent during the whole match. It's almost as if they came in with the mentality that they were Brazil, the top ranked team in the world, and teams were just going to bow before them and allow Brazil to win, which of course is never going to happen in the World Cup Quarterfinals. France played an excellent game today and deserved to win this match.

    Cubs lose 1-0. Baker starts Neifi who makes an error to cost the Cubs a run. Zambrano pitches a complete game and gives up 0 earned runs.

    Ronaldo needs to leave and go away. Every single time a French player got near him and made a play at the ball near the penalty box, he went down. I realized that flopping is part of the game and I'm not arguing against that because that's a whole different ballgame. Ronaldo is one of the best strikers and goal scorers in the history of the game and to see him flop every single time is just pathetic. He should be going around and through the other team to attempt to score rather than trying to get a free kick for his team. World class strikers shouldn't flop all the time. How many times did you see Thierry Henry flop during this match? I can't remember any off hand but I can remember numerous Ronaldo flops. He's done. That being said, France deserved to win this match. Brazil's offense didn't show up until the last 10 minutes of the match and they never seemed to realize that they were playing in the World Cup quarterfinals. France earned this and congrats to them. I didn't want them to win, and still don't, but the fact is they earned this victory.

    Wasn't yellow card worthy though. Brazil is getting some good chances but one must ask where they were in the first 80 minutes of the match.

    Do you honestly think that Hendry/Baker/Management didn't know the fans were upset with this team, until they decided to throw garbage on the field? Honestly, use a little logic. It's not like they don't know the fans are upset. It's not like they aren't just as upset themselves. It's not like they don't care about winning. Throwing garbage on the field or selling tickets to Sox fans isn't going to make management any smarter. Management? Problably knew. Hendry? Maybe knew. Baker? Definately didn't know and probably still doesn't know.

    You had it called for Dye but I guess it has the same effect. I know I called Dye, but I was sitting here watching the game and I realized Pierzynski was coming up and knew he was going to come through. It was too perfect.

    I much enjoyed the commentator (here) saying "But ref, I was just protecting my good looks" Haha. Why did it take so long for them to blow the whistle on the two obvious offsides a few minutes ago? And has anyone seen Brazil? Memo to Brazil, you aren't playing Japan anymore.

    On another note for you Brits, during the match they showed a pre-game interview with Gerrard and he said something to the effect of "[England] has to try really hard because they don't have much of a chance in 2010 because it will be too hot in South Africa." I'm not sure if anyone else saw this during the match but it was a very interesting statement.
