  1. 13-0 Colorado at the end of the third.
  2. I don't have a link but I saw it a couple times on the ESPN2 bottom line but it said "Adam Vinatieri, Corey Simon, Bob Sanders, and Brandon Stokley out for Sunday's game vs Jaguars".
  3. Sweet trick play by Minnesota. Three WR's on the right side. The QB took the snap, threw to one of the receivers who threw the ball back to the left side of the field to the RB who made a nice over the shoulder catch.
  4. Another big return by Breston. Virginia Tech is now up 22-13. Colorado up 13-0 on Georgia halfway through the third. Purdue scores again 27-14. Ugh.
  5. Excellent play action by Minnesota on 4th and goal for the TD. Gophers are staying in this game and it's 20-14 Purdue going into the 4th.
  6. In the last two weeks Manningham has 10 catches for 240 yards and 5 TD's.
  7. They might make it to Columbus undefeated but they won't make it out undefeated. Just for a cover all, Michigan will leave Columbus with one more loss then they came in with.
  8. I agree completely. not if it was the same three pitchers or similar quality. I would love to have wells in cf for $6 million or so even if only for a year. I realize that Pierre and Wells are two completely different players that bring different things to the table. I just don't like the idea of trading three decent/good pitching prospects for a one year rental.
  9. Cincinnati back ahead of Virginia Tech 13-12.
  10. Colorado is beating Georgia 10-0 right now. Yes, that's the same Colorado that lost to Montana St. ETA: 232-31 total yards in favor of Colorado as well.
  11. The Jays have some good young outfielders, Rios and Lind come to mind. If Reed Johnson is for real, Wells could be available. The Jays would want good, young arms. I hadn't thought about the Wells/Wilkens connection. Ah, ok. Thanks for the info.
  12. Interception by Illinois on the 1 yard line. Wow on 0-0 in the second quarter.
  13. Rich Hill strikes out 10 but doesn't get Adam Dunn once. Disappointing.
  14. He would no doubt get a similar if not better deal in the open market. If the Cubs offered that deal I'd think he'd take it, if not then he doesn't want to be here... I think it all comes down to whether or not ARam wants to stay in Chicago because Hendry will offer him good money.
  15. Considering the Blue Jays are trying to challenge the Red Sox and Yankees and want to be competative in the AL East, I don't see them trading Wells in the offseason. ETA: Maybe at the trading deadline next year if they aren't in contention and either don't want to resign him or can't resign him.
  16. I saw the Chargers-Raiders game and I can only imagine how much fun Chargers fans had with that game, and deservedly so. One of my managers at work is a Raiders fan and went to Oakland for the game with a couple of his friends. They tailgated for a couple hours before the game. When I saw him a couple days later he said "I had a great time until the game started."
  17. This year, it's probably accurate.
  18. The Yankees don't make decisions based on finances, they base it on the level of Yankeeness and/or championships. It would be stupid, but I could easily see them dealing him, especially if they bomb out in the playoffs. I agree with the first part in general, although it appears that they may be hitting their upper limit in their payroll. I completely agree with the second point about how the Yankees make decisions. Where we disagree is whether Cashman really believes A-Rod doesn't help them win games. My opinion is he sees through all the negative media hype and figures that unless he gets Cabrera away from the Marlins, A-Rod is the best choice at 3B for his or any team. Who knows how much of this media BS Steinbrenner buys into though. If Big George demands that Cashman trade ARod, does Cashman really have a choice?
  19. I can't emphasize this enough. Has there ever been a club who produces less position talent in their minor league system? We're talking Mark Grace here. How can this go unpunished for so long? Yup. It always baffles me how the Cubs never have any position talent in the minor leagues. Every report is how great the pitching is. I'm not complaining about the good pitching but you would think they would have stumbled onto a couple good position prospects over the years.
  20. I care about two things: 1. How well Rich Hill pitches. 2. How many strikeouts Adam Dunn gets. He's sitting at 182 for the year (his ML record is 195) with 10 games to go. I have faith in Dunn.
  21. I'm going. I'm going to the game tomorrow also. Hopefully they win tonight, so they can clinch tomorrow. I wish I could go but there is no way I can get Friday or Saturday off. It's just not possible. If by chance the A's advance to the ALCS (only saying by chance because I don't want to jinx it) we'll see what days the games are. I would love to go to a playoff game if somebody had extra tickets.
  22. Don't forget about speed/stolen bases.
  23. If you take out Jacque throwing the ball then yes, he has been adequate defensively in right field. But throwing the ball hard and accurately is part of playing defense. Factoring in throwing the ball, he has been average at best.
  24. Where is CubsBullsBears? He would love this thread.
