  1. It's the ACC that has screwed me over this year in my pick em league.
  2. Potential upsets right now other than USC: Oklahoma St is beating Nebraska 27-23 in the fourth quarter. Miami and Georgia Tech are tied at 16 in the fourth.
  3. TD USC. 33-17.
  4. USC has to get a TD here.
  5. USC isn't done yet. They're close and can't afford any more mistakes but they aren't done yet.
  6. That was so awesome. So how does Oregon State screw up turnover #4? By only getting a field goal. It's not even that I don't like USC (because I don't care either way and am indifferent) but this is just pathetic. They had one great game (Arkansas) and one good game (Nebraska) and that's it. I really hope Cal kills them but you know once Oregon rolls into town on 11/11 that USC is going to look like a different team again for those four games (Oregon, Cal, ND, UCLA).
  7. USC's running back just dropped the ball while running. Didn't get hit. Just dropped it.
  8. but now they're tied. It's a clear cut case of pre-season polling affecting mid-season polling. If there were no pre-season polls, no one would have USC as #2 or #3 in the country right now. I don't think that's true. There's no way they would be ahead of Michigan, but they still would be #3, simply by being undefeated with their strength of schedule. For now, they deserve to be there-if they get their first loss, then they can be dropped behind most of the one loss teams where they belong. They would probably be behind WVU and maybe Texas as well. Remember, Arkansas wasn't ranked to start the year and the pollsters only remember where a team was when you beat them. SC would be #5 at best.
  9. Did USC bring back Leinart/Bush/White to play against Arkansas and nobody noticed or something? Because with the exception of that game, USC has looked average at best.
  10. detroit's good pitching didn't shut down st. louis' good hitting. Well game 1 Verlander gave up 6 runs and they lost. Game 2 Rogers pitched good and they won. Game 3 they gave up 3 runs and Carp gave up 0 and the Cards won, game 4 they got some bad breaks gave up 3 runs and lost. And game 5 again bad breaks and gave up 2 runs and lost. So they pitched OK in the W.S., but the cards pitched better and guess what, the better pitching won. If you really believe that the rotation of Carpenter, Weaver, Suppan, Reyes is better than the rotation of Rogers, Verlander, Bonderman, Robertson you are insane. It's called sample size. The Cardinals happened to pitch better in 4 out of 5 freaking games. That's it.
  11. Wilt. Without a doubt.
  12. I've heard they're not quite at Eckstein's level, but they're still quite good. Probably much higher than anybody on the Cubs. EDIT: Spelling
  13. If I had to put up with a season of watching Bonds in a Cubs uniform and the Cubs didn't make the playoffs, I would probably shoot myself.
  14. Hey, David Eckstein also won the MVP of the World Series. Maybe we should sign a bunch of guys with lines of .292/.350/.344/.694 (Eckstein in 2006). Then, as long as we're at it, we should sign a guy who posted a ERA of 5.76, an ERA+ of 76, and a 1.51 WHIP. We'll win the World Series for sure. Hey now, I think Jon got it right. Go for the catcher with the sub-.600 OPS. You know, the catcher who gets more hits in the playoffs than in any full month other than June. Where do I sign? Let's get him too.
  15. Hey, David Eckstein also won the MVP of the World Series. Maybe we should sign a bunch of guys with lines of .292/.350/.344/.694 (Eckstein in 2006). 16. Including Weaver and Suppan completely negates your argument.
  17. I think MSU is officially done. It's 44-7 Indiana now.
  18. I can't stand Tony LaRussa and refuse to congratulate him.
  19. one never loses the ability to be a scrappy gamer. its in your dna. We need to get him then.
  20. I have the same feelings as well.
  21. Weren't we saying that last week when they were down 34-3 or whatever It was 38-3 and yeah, that comeback last week was insane.
  22. Missouri isn't doing too well today so it's not surprising to not hear anything from the posters that go there.
  23. Same here. Oddly enough, I don't really have strong feelings against the other NL Central teams outside of the Cardinals and the Astros. I don't know know why, but seeing the Brewers, Pirates or Reds win it all wouldn't get to me as much as the other two. The Cardinals are the Cardinals, and the Astros have been above average to great since the mid 1990s. The other 3 have been mostly bad for 20 years with a few exceptions (hey, kinda like us!) What I want to know is why fans of every team in the NL Central have this bitter hate for us for some reason. Are they who you thought they were? Sorry, the combination of "Cardinals" and SportsCenter talking about the Bears-Niners game today made me think of that line and I couldn't resist.
  24. I'll watch the very beginning but I have to work at 6 (my time) so I won't be able to watch a majority of the game. I will be giving my parents a call from work to give me updates though.
