And that was a dumb foul at the end. No Arsenal player was getting to that header, the Leicester player wasn't going to beat Monreal to the ball. And it cost them the game. So basically a couple dumb fouls cost them the game.

Second yellow was deserved. The first one seemed a bit harsh but the announcers made it sound like he had a few fouls and it was for accumulation (I didn't watch the whole thing). The second one Giroud is past him and Simpson just grabs him without trying to make a play on the ball with the intention of stopping play. Seemed like a pretty clear yellow to me and Simpson should be smarter than that. You're already on a yellow so you probably shouldn't pull another dude down without even trying to play the ball. Was really hoping that thing would end in a draw. Oh well. For sure Spurs won't drop points on Leicester and ManU.

It makes me feel much better about tomorrow's game knowing that Spurs won't drop any points on 5th because ManU couldn't beat Sunderland.

Surprised it's not in the 91-93 range. Not sure what Vegas was last year but the Nationals were 93.5 online and the Dodgers were 92.5.

I started reading Das Reboot and one bit was about Thomas Muller. Apparently, the one year Jurgen was the Bayern coach, he didn't like Muller, who was only 19. Jurgen only gave him 5 appearances with the top club and Muller spent the whole year with the reserve team. Muller said that Jurgen told him he could look for a transfer and that he had no place in the squad. He probably would have left but somebody else vetoed that. Van Gaal came in the next year, played Muller and he scored 19 goals each of the next two years. I'm sure Jurgen wasn't the only one to overlook Muller but it's still funny to think that Jurgen had no use for a guy who would have 10 World Cup goals before he turned 25.

Football was played different 40+ years ago? No way! Dolphins had the best defense and great power run game. They made games short and limited the number of possessions as well as limiting risk as much as possible. That was Shula's game plan. They ran the ball 50 times in each Super bowl and had leads from start to finish. I'm well aware that football was played differently 40 years ago. In Super Bowl I, the Packers led the whole way with the exception of a few minutes when they were tied. Bart Starr threw 23 passes in that game. They led the whole way the next year also and Starr threw 24 passes. He threw for over 200 yards in each game. The two Griese games were the two fewest attempts by a Super Bowl winning QB who played the whole game (Unitas had 9 but he got hurt and didn't play the whole game). There are only two instances of a QB throwing less than 18 passes in a Super Bowl win and it took Griese two games to reach that.

Was looking up how Manning's Super Bowl performance compared to other QB's who won the Super Bowl. In Miami's back-to-back Super Bowls, Bob Griese was the only QB to throw a pass for Miami. In the two games combined, Griese went 14-18 for 161 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT.

Denver won that game because of their defense and because Carolina's receivers weren't very good, both in terms of not being able to get open and not being able to catch the ball. Cam didn't have a ton of time back there but there's not much he can do if nobody is open. Cam's numbers would have looked better if he had some decent receivers. Everyone wondered if that was going to bite them at some point in the playoffs and it did today.

At Arsenal next Sunday too. Could potentially be a death blow to them. Mahrez cost them £400,000, do you sell high high or lock him long term? Gotta keep him, right? They make a decent champions league showing and he pays for himself. Plus with all the TV money coming into the league next year, it will probably take a huge offer to get him away.

So Leicester goes @Spurs, @Villa, vs Stoke, vs Liverpool and @City and the one team they drop points to was Villa. Plus they tied Bournemouth right before that also.

Want to have a few minutes of fun? Go and look up some random players on Basketball-Reference and see how much money they made in their careers. The best one's are the guys who played 8-12 years, were never good enough to start consistently but good enough to be the 6th-8th men and played in the 90's/2000's. The results will usually amaze you. Tyronn Lue: 21.3M. Chris Mihm: 25.4M. Devean George: 28.6M Kwame Brown: 64M!!!! This started because I was curious how much Lue made in his career and I then started looking up random Lakers. I was at the Bucks-Kings game tonight with my wife and a few coworkers and I looked up the good Bucks team that lost in the ECF in 2000-01. Jason Caffey was on that team and I randomly picked him. He averaged 7.3 ppg and 4.4 rpg for his career over 8 season and yet made 34M.

Yeah, they got off to a slow start that game (just like the three group games), but once we got going, we never should have let it get to extra time.

Yeah. It's definitely setting up for a crazy tournament. Last year was incredibly top heavy with Kentucky, Wisconsin and Duke and it ended up playing out that way. We're already down to 3 major conference teams with 2 losses.

It might not have mattered but the Patrick Peterson muffed punt seemed like a turning point. Arizona had just scored to cut it to 17-7, they get a quick stop and are going to get the ball around midfield. But Peterson fumbles and Carolina goes right down for a TD to go back up 17 and Arizona never got closer the rest of the way.

Yep, that was a great one. Good day today with both Manchester teams dropping points. Would have liked a Liverpool tie or loss also but they were winning entering injury time so I can't complain too much. 5 points up on ManU and 8 up on Liverpool, and only two back of City. Would love an Arsenal draw tomorrow also.

Third most free throws ever shot in a single game behind only Dwight, who shot 39 twice. Also only the ninth time a player has shot 30 in a game.

Pretty weird sequence of events. Chargers attempting a FG on 4th and 25 and make it. However, the Raiders were called for defensive holding which gave San Diego an automatic first down (a ridiculous rule on a FG seeing as the offense isn't actually trying to gain yards). Chargers end up not gaining any yards and attempt another field goal from the same spot and miss it. They also had a near TD right after the penalty that was correctly overturned because the ball hit the ground as the Charger receiver was going to the ground.

My team is generally terrible - best regular season finish is third, this year, and I've never won a playoff round in seven years (this is the eighth) - so I was thinking of trying something different next year. Those of you who play more fantasy baseball, please tell me how crazy/dumb this is. I play in a regular H2H league with R, HR, RBI, K, SB, OPS for hitters and QS, SV, TB, K, ERA, WHIP for pitchers. 1 position for each infielder plus MI and CI, 4 OF, 1 Util for hitters and 3 SP, 3 RP, 3 P for pitchers. I was thinking of just drafting hitters with my first 8 or 9 picks and load up there, grab 5 closers (and hopefully pick one up as a FA for a team that decides late) and then take pitchers. Chapman and Kimbrel went 5th round, Holland 6th, and Robertson 7th. Nothing else until the 9th round. I'd then stream pitchers all year and make sure I won QS, SV, K every week. I'd end up getting at least 21 starts per week so getting 7-8 QS each week would win me that every time (the only guy who had more than 5 this week streamed pitchers). Drafting all hitters early, I'd hopefully have the advantage on offense each week. I realize this wouldn't mean I'd sweep the hitting categories each week and win 9-3. But I feel that this can't possibly be worse than what I've been doing. So is this an ok strategy at all?
