  1. Is it on the Cubs' broadcast or the Reds'? You can see it better on the Reds'. I just saw the Sportscenter highlight using CSN's broadcast and they didn't zoom in as far. I put my hands up because I was celebrating the homer, then the ball bounced into my row so I made a reach for it. You can see me if you're looking for the tall guy with blue sleeves. :D THE CUBS WON THE SOAP DROPPING NL CENTRAL DIVISION :) I tried looking again on MLB.TV but I couldn't see you.
  2. So are the Cubs actually going to start Lilly tomorrow? I understand going with Hill today since he, at the earliest, wouldn't pitch until Game 2 which would be on normal rest and likely won't start until Game 3. But if Lilly pitches today he'll be on 3 days rest before game 2 on Thursday.
  3. A couple thoughts on the weekend's games: -Holy crap with the upsets. I can't remember a weekend that had this many top teams going down. Five of the top 10 and 7 of the top 13 lost today. Amazing day. In addition to that, I was shocked by how many home teams struggled. We see top teams get upset and played tight all the time but generally it's on the road. And I understand that with conference and rivalry games, that can happen and does all the time. But Florida, Texas and Rutgers all lost at home and Wisconsin nearly joined them. -Disappointed that West Virginia lost and, while it would be easy to say they did because Pat White got hurt, I'm not going to do it. South Florida apparently has their number and kudos to them. Also disappointed Rutgers lost and it appears the Big East isn't as strong as I thought (damn you Louisville). I'd now rank them right on par with the Big 10 and Big 12. -I'm really, really hoping that Cal and USC win out until their matchup in Berkeley on November 10. That would be an absolutely amazing matchup. And, this isn't a thought, rather a note about ESPN. They showed a stat that said today's loss was "The most lopsided loss for Texas in 10 years under Mack Brown." Uh, ESPN, did you forget the 2000 and 2003 Red River Shootouts in which Texas lost 63-14 and 65-13?
  4. Damn straight! Thirded dudes. Fourthed!
  5. I could see some of the pollsters putting BC or UK ahead of Wisconsin but there's no way that Florida, Oklahoma and West Virginia are ahead of them. Personally, my top 5 would be: LSU USC Cal OSU Wisconsin If UK can go to South Carolina next week and beat them, then I'll believe they're for real and BC is still in the ACC. EDIT: Like Ping said earlier, we're going to find out a lot about UK over the next three weeks.
  6. Baseball season now, baseball season now, etc.
  7. This is just like the idiot Fresno State guy who fumbled into the endzone reaching for the pylon against Texas A&M. It's first down you idiots and you'll have the ball at the one. Just hold onto it and try to push your way into the endzone and if you don't get there, ball is at the one. I'm not sure if Oregon had any timeouts left but it appeared in the one replay I saw that the Oregon player was going to go out of bounds or not. But the Fresno State play was worse because that was in overtime so they didn't have to worry about the time at all.
  8. Yes sir and I'm looking up plane tickets right now. I think I'm actually sitting with you for Game 4, vance.
  9. Just fine. less than a 30% peak load on the memory. The adjustments I've made over the past few months have helped an awful lot. Now I just have to find a way to increase revenues to pay for them. ;) You should try to goad people into buying Premium if the Cubs make or win the World Series.
  10. Is it on the Cubs' broadcast or the Reds'?
  11. So now that we're in, what's the playoff rotation? My vote is for The Game Thread Pimp for Game 1.
  12. Hill has to get the start tomorrow. His last outing was Saturday the 22nd so if he doesn't go tomorrow he'll have two full weeks off before his start in Game 3 next Saturday. They should limit his pitches but he should throw 70-80.
  13. Thank you San Diego. Thank you very much.
  14. CUBS WIN!!! YES!!! When Milwaukee lost I had a wonderful glass of Johnnie Walker Gold Label to celebrate. Time to buy my plane ticket to Chicago for next weekend. GO CUBS!!!
  15. Oh to heck with it. Musical Chairs it is 8-) Russian Roulette.

  17. Shouldn't be surprised Kendall is in the lineup today. Lou said he would get most of the PT the rest of the way and Len and Bob said they expected Kendall to be in the lineup this weekend against Cincinnati. Like Raisin said, at least Theriot is out of the two-spot.
  18. That was an amazing line from Brenly.
  19. If the Rockies win out the only thing they are assured of is finishing ahead of the Diamondbacks by one game. If the Padres sweep the Brewers, they'll take the NL West with the Rockies finishing a game back. Also, if the Rockies, Mets, and Phillies win out, the Rockies would finished tied with one of those two teams for the wild card.
  20. The Cubs had Ramirez and Soriano out for long stretches and they aren't completely healthy now. Howry and Eyre sucked in the beginning of the year (Eyre for about half the year) but since then they've been pitching great. Dempster missed a month. Wood didn't come back until August. I realize the pitchers don't affect the team as much as the position starters since they don't play as much but it's not like the Cubs have been injury free this year.
  21. The same would be true if they both lose tonight, but I'd prefer winning. I'm actually hoping for that scenerio, because not only would the players be able to properly celebrate, but we'll be able to see all the postgame coverage on WGN (I'm sure there would be an extended 10th Inning show if they clinch tomorrow). Completely agree. I'd like to see the Cubs and Brewers match each other tonight (preferably the both winning since it would mean the Cubs actually got a win) for that very reason.
  22. I thought I remember a commercial or something during yesterday's WGN telecast where Len and Bob said they'll be back here (meaning WGN) on Saturday. Not sure though as I wasn't paying too close attention.
  23. I know it's been said before, but it's so awesome that this game thread is a poll.
  24. Agreed. Lou had a bad three days (yes, I'm oversimplifying it as he's obviously made other mistakes this year) while Dusty was bad every single day.
