  1. Right as Smoltz says it's a tough task, Schwarber doubles off the wall.
  2. Bryant swinging at sliders biting out of the zone after being rung up on a pitch 4 inches outside is not an accident. Also a fraction of the 2 seamers to lefties are actually getting back to the zone, I'd like to invite Larry Vanover to retire at his earliest convenience. Unless you have no faith in Gameday, they're getting back to the zone. Kluber's been dealing.
  3. I liked the playoff chokers 84 and 03 sign. Uh, your team blew a 3-1 lead more recently than we did.
  4. Smoltz probably thinks Kershaw is a playoff choker so it wasn't actually that impressive.
  5. Those are all outside. They were strikes when we were batting. No they weren't.
  6. Two batters in it looked like a quick inning. Now it's a stressful 20+ pitch inning.
  7. This is on one hell of a delay. Gameday has shown a few pitches before the broadcast has.
  8. We're officially watching the Cubs in the World Series!
  9. We have not, but I would expect us to go Lester. He's our horse. I put Lester in there because he'd be going on normal rest and didn't think they'd care about 7 vs 8 days off for Jake since he'll pitch Game 1 or 2 anyway. Lester threw 108 on Thursday but was coming off 77 the start before so it's not like they stretched him to 120.
  10. We're finally here. When Theo took this team over after the 2011 season, we all had dreams that this day would come. We suffered through a couple terrible seasons and regardless of whether you agree or disagree with the method, it's certainly paid off. But while we're happy with the pennant, the ultimate goal has yet to be achieved. Four more wins. 108 more outs to get to end 108 years of suffering. I said Kershaw was on notice before the last game and the Cubs crushed his hopes and dreams. Now it's your turn, Cleveland. I know it's been 68 years for you, but you're going to have to wait at least one more. BeliEVEN? Ended it. BelieVin? Sorry, no happy ending here. Believeland? The Cubs are coming for you. CUBS are 110-61-1 when they play a baseball game CUBS are 7-3 in the playoffs CUBS are 49-36-1 on the road CUBS are 27-8 when Lester starts CUBS are 0-0 against the Indians CUBS are 9-9 all time against the Indians Go CUBS !! http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h184/soccer10k/Fred_1.png EDIT: I knew I was forgetting something.
  11. Did anyone try to get newspapers today and did they actually have coverage of last night in there?
  12. Hey guys, how's everything going? Anything interesting happen last night? I'm out with family right now but I'll have the new thread up tonight.
  13. I think if the Cubs were up 2-0 after beating Kluber and whoever Cleveland starts in Game 2, the next game would be relatively stress free.
  14. Ok. Haven't bought anything yet. My plan was to go to a bar outside of Wrigley and check the online sites after the game had started in the hopes that prices would drop a bit. Not really counting on it but in case I do pull the trigger, I wanted to know where I'd be standing. I don't really mind walking around and I'm 6-8 so I don't have to worry about other people blocking my view. don't the online sites shutdown after the game starts? Gametime and Seatgeek allow you to keep buying tickets an hour into the game.
  15. It's basically between the dugouts at the back of terrace reserved. You are going to have a huge overhang blocking the sky but depending on pole positioning you should have a solid view of the entire field. Get there early though and lock in a spot, I can't stress that enough. Also unless you are standing next to someone who is cool, be prepared to not leave the spot because people will quickly jump in and take it. If that happens, you still have access to anywhere in the park (besides the bleachers), if you don't mind being on the move, the last time I had SRO, I spent probably 3-4 innings just walking back and forth between the lower and upper concourse watching the game as I walked back and forth. 16. So where are the general standing room only tickets good for? Obviously the bleacher SRO are behind the bleachers but where are the regular SRO?
