  1. Would have been really nice to get that insurance run home.
  2. There was that one probably 15 years ago now against the White Sox where it was a super obvious obstruction against the White Sox, the umps called it and Hawk completely lost his shit on air.
  3. We'll be either 1 or 2 games up on Milwaukee at the end of the day and we're over 60% of the way through the season. It's not early May. It's totally understandable to be seeing what other teams around us are doing. And if you don't think the Brewers are going to seriously challenge us so you're checking the scoreboard to see where the Cubs are in the race for the 1 seed, that's fine too!
  4. https://www.fangraphs.com/tools/crowdsourced-trade-value Enjoy. I learned I might be a bit of a homer since PCA is my current No. 1.
  5. So it's either KB or Lester, right? Either you just say F it let's build a super offense or you get the ace SP that we all want. If you include the 2015 Cubs, then it's got to be God Mode Arrieta.
  6. I believe I saw Boyd briefly but I haven't been paying super close attention.
  7. Both dumb but yes the tiebreaker is worse. No way they can project how far each of those would have traveled down to the inch. Just do a swing off like they’ve always done.
  8. Lol. Raleigh winning a tiebreaker to knock out Rooker by 0.08 feet might be the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen.
  9. Yeah, Jazz predictably did terribly.
  10. We can only hope.
  11. I’ll be shocked if Trump isn’t front and center next year during the trophy lift.
  12. Trump standing right in the middle of the trophy presentation and refusing to move when Infantino was telling him to move was 100% on brand. Also, me cashing a Chelsea to win the trophy bet:
  13. First time since the 1988 French Open.
  14. I’m aware. But you can’t assume Judge is going to homer. At least make him earn it.
  15. Well time to turn this one off and check the score in an hour.
  16. In his last 11 starts, he’s allowed 11 runs. He gave up 4 in 1 game and 2 in another. The other 8 he gave up either 0 or 1. He’s 1-3 over those starts.
  17. Pirates 9 game stretch. They became the first team in history to have back to back series of 3+ games that ended in sweeps, which featured them shutting out their opponent in all three games of one sweep and getting shut out themselves in all three games of the other sweep. I included the Mets series in there because it's funny to see a team go from scoring 30 runs in 3 games to 0 in 3 games a week later.
  18. Rockies are currently 21-72, which is a pace of 36.6 wins. The 2024 White Sox were 26-67 through 93 games and won the next one. However, after that the White Sox went 4-42 in their next 46 games. That left them at 31-109 through 140 games. If the Rockies keep playing at their current place, they'll have the same record (or a game better) as the WS through 140 games.
  19. And just like that we’re only 1.5 up on Milwaukee.
  20. Probably not getting it this year either. Their current leader is on pace for 25.
  21. According to baseball savant, 38 players have at least 10 opportunities at a 5 star catch this year. Everyone besides PCA have made 21 5 star catches combined and no players have made more than 3. PCA has 10 by himself. And it’s not like he’s had way more chances either. He’s one of 8 with 15+ chances. He’s made 10 of 15, which is a 66.7% success rate. Second place is Eli White at 33% and he’s 1-3 this year. For his career he’s 18-32, which is a 56.3% catch rate. There’s only 1 player who has a 30+% catch rate who has more than 8 chances, which is Andrew Toles at 4-13 (30.8%). PCA’s 18 catches is also tied for the most with Kiermaier and Michael Taylor. Those two have 102 and 148 chances at 5 star catches.
