  1. Wish KB would have taken on 2-0. Probably a strike but it was borderline so you never know.
  2. I really hate when curves/sliders like that get called because it's curving back to the plate and never gets there. At least if it curves across the plate and out of the zone, I can see why it would get called. But that pitch was never a strike.
  3. Didn't we do that last year? I don't mind mixing it up a little. Fell behind for 1 day after losing to Arizona. Cubs were 3-1, Pirates were 4-0. They lost the next day and the Cubs didn't trail again. Were tied with The Pirates and then the Reds until Game 7. Sole possession of 1st the rest of the way.
  4. It's stupid. Buster has brought it up a few times during pregame and during, now he's got the announcers talking about it. He does the same thing on his podcast. When he thinks he has a good idea about something, he asks every guest about it for 3-4 days. He was all in on Gleyber Torres mqybe starting the season with the Yankees this year or at least getting called up early. He had Law on and Law told him no chance because Torres hasn't been above High-A and Olney still went on and on about it for a couple more days.
  5. Teixeira just said that with Martinez on the mound, the Cards are just as good as the Cubs. Uh try again there, Mark.
  6. I'm going to watch the Giants game to see if Derek Law was able to wipe away his NLDS tears or if they permanently stained his face.
  7. The guy who is currently winning the ESPN bracket pool has missed 8 total games. Three of them (including his only incorrect Elite 8 team) were because he picked UC Davis to win 3 games.
  8. Until that ball actually cleared the fence, I never thought it was going out. As Davis was slowing up while he was getting to the wall, I kept expecting him to stop and put his glove up to make the catch. I know balls were carrying but Ross homering to dead center off Andrew Miller just seemed so unlikely.
  9. That was ugly basketball at the end. Both teams were clearly gassed. That said, amazing shot. Refs tried to give UCONN the game with that bull crap flagrant foul call and the announcers were wholeheartedly agreeing with it. It should have been a regular foul in the first place so it probably evened out anyway. UConn bungled it at the end though. No reason to take a shot with 15 seconds left.
  10. Randomly looked at the NIT bracket today and man did the top teams not give a horsefeathers this year. The Final Four seeds were 4, 4, 6, 8. The #1 seeds won a total of 3 games (none more than 1), the #2 seeds won a total of 2 (both Illinois) and the #3 seeds didn't win any.
  11. Maybe next time someone attack that ball a bit.
  12. Hell of an effort by Pulisic on the goal.
  13. Argentina should be fine. They have at Uruguay, home to Peru, home to Venezuela, at Ecuador. Win the two home games against 8th and 10th gives them 28 points. Ecuador is at Brazil, home to Peru, at Chile and home to Argentina. So they'd have to beat Peru, Argentina and one of Brazil/Chile to get to 29. Paraguay has at Brazil, at Chile, home to Uruguay, at Columbia, home to Venezuela. They're only on 18 so they'd need 4 wins. Netherlands needs to hold serve at home against Sweden and Bulgaria. Do that and they should be fine but they don't have much margin for error. I think conmebol is a two game agreggate for who gets in for 5th and 6th place after qualifying games. So if you describe happens then they would probably still need to maybe get a result at 10,000ft in Ecuador (after getting rolled at altitude v Bolivia). Obviously they should pass chile, Uruguay or Columbia but it doesn't look like they will based on their form. So this is not a dream scenario. Wiki says top 4 qualify automatically and 5th has a playoff with Oceania. So realistically, Argentina would have to go win, loss, draw in their next three matches then lose to Ecuador in the last round to miss out.

  15. Nolan Arenado Kris Bryant, Manny Machado Mike Trout, Bryce Harper, Giancarlo Stanton Nick Castellanos, Justin Bour, Adrian Gonzalez, Francisco Lindor, Kole Calhoun
  16. Well that was a fun game to be at.
