  1. If you end games after 12 innings we'd no longer get position players pitching, which is always fun. The John Baker game was one of the highlights of the 2014 season. Scoreless 16th inning on the mound followed by a walk to start the bottom half and scoring the winning run.
  2. Someone mentioned it in today's game thread but if the Cubs want to just crush some team, I wouldn't mind it at all.
  3. Just for you, TT: http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/11493214/v1310924683/must-c-clips-blackmon-legs-out-insidethepark-homer
  4. Just get it to the 11th and the top of our order will win it.
  5. Duensing in to really put the game out of reach.
  6. These pop ups in big spots are really annoying.
  7. Sweep the Reds. Take first place. Don't give it back.
  8. [tweet] [/tweet] CB Bucknor at it again. He was the third base ump, this ball was hit to left field and he called in an out before getting overruled by the other umps.
  9. Please no GIDP, Miggy. Just let Bryant bat.
  10. One guy gets on and Bryant will hit a walkoff dong.
  11. While the last couple WS winners got off to a great start, that's not always the case: 2012 SF started 18-19 2011 StL started 8-9 and was 50-47 in late July 2010 SF was 40-39 at one point 2009 NYY started 15-17 and they won 103 games 2008 Phi started 11-11 It's still too early to be worried, unless you thought they were going to win 110 games.
  12. In the bottom of the ninth of Nats-Braves, CB Bucknor ruled that a pitch that the batter missed by 6 inches was a foul ball. Would have been a strikeout to end the game. It ended up not mattering but the Braves were only down 2 and had the bases loaded so it easily could have. The players were shaking hands and some of the grounds crew had come onto the field. http://m.mlb.com/video/v1299721883
  13. We're all going to laugh at this stretch when we win 98 games this year but man this is annoying right now.
  14. I know McCutchen didn't like giving up his spot in center getting a teammate suspended seems a bit extreme.
  15. Ref doesn't give a second yellow to Casemiro when it easily could have been but then gives Vidal a second yellow on a play that probably isn't even a foul.
  16. Nice job swinging at balls 3 and 4, Albert. Wouldn't want Schwarber up with the bases loaded.
  17. That would be cool. But I'm not sure that's the way baseball works. Teams can't galvanize under adversity? So the entire storyline of the 2016 World Series Game 7 is hogwash? I'm sure the Cubs are pretty upset with themselves and I can see an unleashing of dongs coming. The World Series story isn't total hogwash but they ended up winning that game more because -they had Schwarber, Bryant, Rizzo coming up in the 10th -they were facing a guy who had thrown 14 pitches in the 9th (and had thrown 73 already in the series in 3 appearances) before sitting during the bottom of the ninth plus the rain delay than because Heyward gave a motivational speech during the delay.
