  1. Down goes Gonzaga. Lost at home to BYU.
  2. Still can't believe he threw Javy a fastball in the zone there. I know it wasn't the worst location (low and away) but it was still a fastball and it was in the zone. That should have been a curveball but if you're going to throw a fastball, it needs to be up at the letters.
  3. That was one of the worst fouls ever. Just let the guy take the dunk and the worst that happens is you go to OT. But trying for the block from behind was terrible. Northwester has to win at least one more game to make the tourney right? I wouldn't think finishing 9-9 in conference with a first round Big Ten tournament loss would be enough.
  4. Got selected in the lottery for tickets to USA-Honduras in San Jose in March. Pretty excited. Never been to any US game before.
  5. I figured they'd at least wait until they were knocked out of the UCL first or gotten beat badly enough in the first leg that a comeback wasn't realistic.
  6. Spoilered for language.
  7. Yep. You get Hield (only 3 years younger than Cousins, by the way), Evans (mostly useless), a 1st rounder that, at best, will be at the back of the lottery and a 2nd round pick. On the plus side, tickets on the secondary market are going to be even cheaper next year, which is good for me.
  8. Dunk contest was terrible this year. Every other dunk was an attempt over 2-3 people. Plus Derrick Jones Jr. getting a 37 on a dunk he didn't even make was a joke. I know they're trying to keep the finals interesting but come on.
  9. How did you figure this out? I messed around on B-R for a bit but couldn't figure it out. I'd be interested in seeing the list.
  10. We realized our hatred of John Lackey was fully justified? Or was that a positive? I'm not sure.
  11. They were mainly because he has been vocal about never having had alcohol (thought I'm not sure if he followed through on his claim that he'd drink World Series champagne) and then he has missed/been pulled from games on more than one occasion with "flu like symptoms." I know it's been talked about that he's Mormon but I'm not sure it's ever been confirmed in any sort of way (like him saying so, or it even being in print as a fact). I feel like it was usually day games that he missed which fueled the speculation.
  12. Minor nitpicking but the Cubs were 20-6 coming into the series while the Nats were 19-8. Love this series though. So many great memories that I'd forgotten about, though not this one. Watched the first few innings at my parents house. Drove home (90 minutes away), started watching again where I left off and was only about 10 minutes behind when Baez walked it off.
  13. Maddon getting tossed to make sure the reliever got time to warm up was amazing. Hey Joe West, you won't let us have a mound visit? Cool, I'll just argue with you for a couple minutes and get what I want anyway.
  14. Draymond had a triple double of rebounds, assists and steals tonight. He also had 5 blocks and missed a 5x5 game because he only had 4 points.
  15. Fun fact, the chance Soler would have either hurt himself trying to make that play or completely botched it was also 90%.
  16. I need more dongs in my life.
  17. Dongs. Lots and lots of dongs.
  18. I'd say so. Cavs were the first team to overcome 3-1 down in the NBA finals. Cubs were the 6th. Pats comeback was 15 points more than the previous record. Plus the NCAA title game didn't just have the buzzer beater but Carolinas comeback from 10 down in the last few minutes including the Paige off balance 3 to tie. And without thinking too much, Clemson-Bama is 1a and 1b with USC-Texas for me.
  19. So in the last calendar year the Cavs came back from 3-1 down, the Cubs came back from 3-1 down and the Pats come back from 28-3 down.
  20. Atlanta's not getting the ball back, are they.
  21. The sack then holding that took them out of field goal range killed them. They had the ball at the 22 and couldn't even stay in FG range.
  22. This is bWAR, not fWAR, though Fangraphs only has him slightly higher at 19.0 I see now. Regardless, that's pretty low for a guy with 300 HR. Adam Dunn has 462 HR and he's got 16.9 bWAR and 25.4 fWAR.
  23. Much respect, Michael Bradley. https://www.instagram.com/p/BP1tTxtFWrw/?taken-by=michaelbr4dley&hl=en
  24. Well that was certainly a fun match. Didn't think Roger was going to do it when he fell down 2-0 in the 5th, since he's tended to peter out in the fifth in recent years.
  25. We're a couple minutes away from #1, 2 and 4 going down on the same day and Gonzaga likely going to #1.
