  1. One thread seems better than week by week, seeing as we don't get much in each one (or any, in the case of Week 9). Anyway, the Browns used a timeout on the first snap of the game. Browns kicked off and on Baltimore's first play, Cleveland had 12 men on the field.
  2. I ordered a bunch of stuff last Wednesday from MLB.com and the only thing that has shipped so far has been one shirt, which was sent out Monday.
  3. It will probably come down to how much he prioritizes getting the most money. I doubt the Cubs completely lowball him (like a 1 or 2 year deal) so if he's willing to accept one less year and a couple mil less per year, there's a decent chance he'll be back.
  4. Don't shortchange them. It's 5 years. They lost the 2013 series to Boston.
  5. I hope that dope who always buys a Cards jersey with the number of years it's been for the Cubs on the back shows up next year in a 0 jersey. He won't, obviously, but I wish he would.
  6. I can't stop watching the last play and the celebration on the field. It's just so wonderful.
  7. Any idea how all the merchandise sales get distributed? Does some or all of it get put into a pool and split evenly between all the teams or are the Cubs getting all of the revenue from the World Series stuff?

  10. Yep. Nobody would have believed you if you went back and told the board that he'd get a standing ovation after getting removed in his last home game and that people love him the way they do. It's an amazing turnaround.
  11. I'm with you. I know a title is a title and it really doesn't matter how many games they won during the season, but I love that they went into the season as favorites and more than lived up to it. I love that they were a 103 win juggernaut that just crushed teams and weren't a team that played decent, won 87 games, snuck in and got hot for a month. I wouldn't complain if they pulled a 2006 Cards because it's still a title, but I'm glad it went down like it did. And then we got the playoff highlights. Javy Game 1, Arrieta and KB in Game 3 (even though they lost), the comeback in Game 4, Miggy Game 1, breaking Kershaw's soul in Game 6, Schwarber's return and almost everything in Game 7. Not that Cleveland fans would have cared had they won the title, but up until the Davis HR, they didn't have any epic moments. They barely trailed during either of the first two series and didn't have a single comeback until Game 7. Their playoff highlights consisted of scoring a few early runs and having their starters pitch well enough to keep the lead through 5 or 6 before letting Miller and Allen pitch 3-4 innings.
  12. This just has the Grant Park part of it but it's something. No montage though.
  13. Definitely thought they were going to bring Vedder out.
  14. Saving Rizzo for last apparently. EDIT: Or maybe Ross.
  15. This montage they're showing on MLBN is awesome. I hope this gets uploaded to YouTube.
  16. Russell before Game 7. [tweet] [/tweet] I'm pretty sure at least one woman behind the dugout is now pregnant because of those moves.
  17. I don't know if anyone has helped you already but wait until tomorrow. I don't think they let you order today's paper until the next day. That's what happened to me after the NLCS clincher. Had to wait until Monday to order Sunday's paper.
  18. From my game 1 thread (and edited). BeliEVEN? Ended it. BelieVin? Sorry, no happy ending here. Believeland? You'll always have that Cavs title to cherish.
  19. Definitely wearing a Cubs jersey to work tomorrow and bringing my W flag to hang in the cubicle.
  20. I told my wife before the game that if tonight doesn't give me grey hair, nothing will. And after the way the game went, that's doubly true.
  21. Going beyond the 108 years... The Cubs were probably the best team at the end of the 2015 season. The Cubs won the offseason (though Heyward obviously didn't work out as they hoped), and they went into this season as the favorites. Everyone was picking the Cubs to win a ton of games. And what happened? They lived up to expectations, going out and winning 103 games and were 8.5 games better than anyone else in the majors. Going into the playoffs, everyone picked the Cubs to win, with the whole playoffs caveat. And then they went out and did it. This team lived up to everything people hoped they'd be. And that's so rare in baseball, especially in the postseason.

  23. How many days until pitchers and catchers report? horsefeathers that. How long until my World Series DVD shows up?
  24. nah, horsefeathers them. THE CUBS JUST WON THE horsefeathering WORLD SERIES! Are they Cavs fans also? If so, then they'll survive.
