  1. How many World Series do we have to win before people like him aren't complete idiots in game threads? At one point earlier this year I said something along the lines that the Cubs could win 100+ games each year for a decade straight, win the World Series each year, and he'd still overreact like this. It's just who he is and nothing the Cubs do will ever change it.
  2. Sorry guys but none of this counts. Schwarber Fan conceeded this game to the Phillies after the 1st inning.
  3. Prince Fielder got $24M to not play this year, and has another $72M coming over the next three seasons And he is still more valuable than Pujols, who has between -1 and -2 WAR by both B-R and Fangraphs. I know it's been brought up before but man we dodged a bullet in 2011.
  4. Albert Pujols is hitting .231/.276/.381 (and doing it batting 3rd or 4th all year). He's due $114M over the next four years. Miguel Cabrera is hitting .254/338/.405 this year. He's due $192M over the next six years.
  5. Stanton hit two more homers tonight and has 49 on the year.
  6. Thanks for ruining my game thread run before it even started, jerks.
  7. CUBS are 34-30 on the road CUBS are 25-13 in the second half CUBS are 12-10 in August CUBS are 8-12 on Friday CUBs are 4-3 when Quintana starts CUBS are 3-1 against the Phillies this year CUBS are 1227-1106-18 all time against the Phillies Go CUBS !!
  8. Spurs drew the toughest group with Real and Dortmund. Could see it coming when Man U and Man City drew two of the weaker teams from Pot 1. Chelsea got a tough one also with Atletico and Roma. Poor APOEL is the 4th team in Tottenham's group. They could break the record for most goals allowed in the group stage.
  9. Of those 12 losses, only twice did the Cubs not have the potential tying run bat in the 9th: - a 6-2 loss in Arizona where the Cubs scored 2 in the 9th and Zobrist struck out to end the game with runners on first and third. - a 11-4 loss to the Cards that the Cubs led 3-2 in the 8th I think they did the same thing to start last season where in the first couple months, there were only a couple of games that they got blown out and didn't have a chance to win late.
  10. I told a friend the other day that excluding the Cubs, there's not much I'd rather see in the playoffs than the Dodgers getting bounced in the NLDS. He asked if I'd like it even if it was the Cards eliminating them. I got annoyed just thinking about the possibility of an 85 win Cards team winning the WC game and bouncing a 110 win Dodger team.
  11. That's rough for Hill. Perfect through 8, no-hitter through 9, give up 1 runner that's your fault and lose the game.
  12. Rich Hill perfect through 7 in Pittsburgh. 0-0 game though.
  13. By far the worst thing about fantasy baseball is having players go against the Cubs. If at all possible, I try to always bench them. I do also but I needed a couple pitchers and I went with the best one available. Figured he either gets me a QS or the Cubs offense has a decent day. I'm glad the way it turned out.
  14. Grimm to the DL. Season's over, guys. There's no coming back from this one.
  15. I have Happ on my fantasy team and I'm leaving him in my starting lineup because I know if I move him to the bench he'll throw 7 innings of 1 run ball. Hopefully the jinx works.
  16. Here comes Wilson to put them game out of reach.
  17. your stream is way ahead of mine I'm listening to the radio feed online.
  18. I lied. I'm back in. Unless Cincinnati scores the next run. Then I'll gladly leave again for the good of the team.
  19. I'm only listening but this inning sounds really annoying.
  20. Probably should have kept Soler. Dude has a .961 OPS this year. Wait, that's in AAA. His MLB OPS is .520 and in just 102 PAs in 29 games, he's been worth -1.4 WAR.
