I swear every Lester start against the Cards goes the same horsefeathering way. Pitches great for 6 or 7 innings but the offense doesn't do much and the Cards win by a run or two in the last couple innings.
And they apparently booed Brandon McCarthy yesterday. Hey idiots, when you're on pace for 110 wins, you don't get to boo anyone on your team for what they've done on the field.
Every couple weeks I watch the video of all the Cubs 2017 playoff home runs. The Miggy and Russell slams will always get me excited. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-4e5qBvC-U
Even though he's on the Cards, I can find this somewhat funny because he's doing it against the Mets. Paul DeJong vs the Mets this year: 10-17, 4 HR, 4 2B, .588/.588/1.529

[/tweet] All you'd have to do is make it for charity. No chance the winner would stop hitting if you did that. They used to have the special baseballs when the player got to 9 outs and every home run hit was worth a specific amount that the sponsor would donate to charity. Easy solution and everyone is happy. EDIT: To go a step further. In the final, just say every extra homer the winner hits, the charity gets a specific amount. That way you're donating even if the person who goes first in the final wins (like Stanton last year).
"That's a nice round. That's 10 home runs. That's a really good round of home runs." Uh, might want to look at the scores the last couple years, Tex. Out of 14 rounds last year, 10 would have tied for the second worst and this year it's tied for the worst round.
Really thought Stanton would pull it out when he got going but he just ran out of gas. Was hilarious that they were fawning over how far Sanchez's HRs went and then Stanton hit 5 longer than anyone else had to that point.
