  1. Oh good. New England in another Super Bowl.
  2. Jags got screwed over on the fumble that Jack recovered. Ref called him down by contact when he definitely wasn't. That's a touchdown and 27-10 Jacksonville if they let the whole thing play out.
  3. The Lakers shot 2-14 on free throws tonight. The only team that shot worse in a game was the Raptors, who went 0-3 in a game in 1996. Hilariously enough, their opponent in that game, the Hornets, shot 41 free throws. Toronto also shot 1-7 in a game in 2012 (this thriller).
  4. If you’re worried about the PI, just ease up a bit and make the tackle. Even if he gets out of bounds, you were looking at a 50 yard field goal. That’s obviously makeable, but its not a chip shot.
  5. Holy horsefeathers! That Saints DB blew it. How do you go low there?
  6. Vikings driving with the chance at a game winning field goal in the playoffs, what could go wrong?
  7. Hey, I’ve got a 250 pound QB and it’s 4th and inches. Do you think I should sneak it with him? Nope I’m going to run a toss play and a pass instead. So dumb. Plus when they got called for intentional grounding with 40 seconds left, they should have spiked it and kicked a FG. Instead, they wasted all the time left to get a TD.
  8. Have you ever wished you could buy Nathan Peterman gear? Well Nathan Peterman has you covered! https://nathan-peterman.myshopify.com He’s even got cell phone cases and pillows.
  9. We're on a nice run of good title games. Four of the last five have been great and the one that wasn't, was a 1 point game until the last play of the third quarter.
  10. True Fresh looking him off like a pro that’s how. What a game Yep. Great play. Dude called out exactly what he saw in the interview right after the game and then they showed the replay.
  11. Holy blown coverage, Batman. How do you give that up on 2nd and 26?
  12. Pretty ballsy from Saban to switch quarterbacks at half time. I mean, Jalen Hurts can't throw a good pass that isn't a short screen, but it is the national title game.
  13. If you look only at last year, the four are pretty much even by average of bWAR and fWAR: Arenado 6.4 WAR Ramirez 6.8 WAR Rendon 6.4 WAR Bryant 6.4 WAR Of course, that also ignores the fact that KB was the best 3B in both versions of WAR in 2016, 2 wins better than Arenado and 3.5 better than both of the other two. And it's not like Bryant is in his 30's where his best days might be behind him.
  14. Eh. I wouldn't say he "collapsed". He was walking off the field and went down probably to avoid his team having to call a timeout or get a delay of game penalty. He looked pretty under control to me. Also, "obviously concussed" is a severe overstatement. You don't have the ability to diagnose a concussion on TV, and you can be woozy without getting a concussion. He was likely seeing stars, but you can't determine if he had a concussion based on watching a play on TV. Yeah, and I feel certain that he was subject to concussion protocol under that tent. What a win. Saints and Falcons win next week and the NFC title games goes through the Dome. We've seen plenty of instances this year where a guy was concussed, went under their tent, "passed" concussion protocol and came back into the game. He shouldn't have gone back in the game.
  15. I recorded the Bills-Jags game, watched it in just under an hour and I regret every second I spent watching it.
  16. Yeah, that call was terrible. If that's forward progress being stopped then a majority of strip sacks are just sacks and not fumbles.
  17. Can’t trade for Hue Jackson? Might as well keep Marvin Lewis then.
  18. Loved JD saying the Krampus looks like John Lackey.
  19. Sounds like Nashville is getting one of the expansion teams since MLS is holding an event there tomorrow. That leaves Sacramento, Cincy and Detroit for the second spot.
  20. Also dumb: diving for the end zone with only one hand on the ball when you're down 3 and have already picked up the first down.
  21. Fun fact: Steven Adams leads the Thunder in PER right now.
  22. [tweet] [/tweet]
  23. Was hoping Spurs would get lucky with the UCL draw and instead they drew Juve. At least it's not Bayern, I guess. At least Chelsea didn't get lucky and drew Barcelona. And PSG drew the short stick and got stuck with Real Madrid.
  24. There's no Week 14 so I'll put this here. Why is a team forced to burn a timeout in the last two minutes when there's an injury when the clock is stopped? It makes total sense if the clock is running (you don't want a player to fake an injury to stop the clock). It didn't matter but Baltimore had to burn their final timeout today when a receiver went down after an incomplete pass.
  25. Bring him home (with Yelich). Good God, why? Starlin isn't good. Because he'd presumably be part of a package deal with Yelich since the Marlins are trying to dump salary.
