  1. It's too bad that didn't happen to the White Sox. Hawk would have had a heart attack on air.
  2. It's not going to happen but it's possible that we get a 6 way tie for the 4 through 9 spots in the West. Right now there are 5 teams with 45 wins and the other has 46. Utah: loses @ LAL, vs. GS, @ Por NO: loses @ GS, @ LAC and wins vs SA SA: loses vs Por, wins vs Sac, loses @ NO OKC: loses @ Hou, loses @ Mia, wins vs Mem Min: wins vs Mem, loses vs Den Den: loses vs Port, wins @ Min There are a couple results you could swap with the two H2H games (SA-NO and Min-Den) but that makes the results less likely. But it's not like we would need these teams to lose games to any of the tanking teams. The biggest upset in the bunch is probably Utah losing at the Lakers. On a related note, the NBA should have an actual tiebreaker game if two or more teams are tied for the 8 seed. If both teams are making the playoffs, just use the tiebreakers. But if it's deciding who is in and who is out, just have a play-in game with the home team being determined by the tiebreaker. This isn't football where the players need a week to recover from a game. Season ends Wednesday, have the play-in game on Friday and the 1-8 series starts Sunday. End the season a day earlier if need be to give yourself time to play game or games.
  3. The problem I have is that Morrow almost certainly would have been warming up in the 10th again just in case the Cubs scored just like he was a week ago.
  4. At least Morrow will be available to warm up again tomorrow.
  5. Why wasn't he available this time? Because it wasn’t a save situation.
  6. Please score so Joe doesn’t have Morrow be unavailable tomorrow because he warmed up 6 times.
  7. If Willy just runs him all the way back to third and tags both players, he might have kept Thames at first.
  8. Got to account for the extra base somehow.
  9. Honestly I think he could get top 5 MVP votes and still not opt out. yeah i'm not sure there's a season he could possibly have even on trout or harper WAR levels lmao He'd have to have two solid seasons, right? One's not going to be enough. But if he put up back to back .290/.360/.490 type seasons he might opt out. But even then I think it would depend on how the free agent market goes next season. If there's another offseason of only the top handful of guys getting big deals, he might not feel like it's worth the risk.
  10. That was quite enjoyable. It was right as he was talking about how this is one of the best feelings he's had about a team in all his years announcing.
  11. It's too bad we don’t have sites that will calculate strikeout percentage for us and then allow us to sort so we know which team K’s at the the highest rate.
  12. Yeah, when they were down 7 they weren’t making shots but Michigan was also getting a bunch of easy shots. When they went on that run to take the lead, it was just as much defensive effort as it was Divincenco getting hot and hitting shots.
  13. If Michigan shoots lights out it could be a game...but even if they do I think they would be hard pressed to beat Villanova I’m thinking this will be similar to 2009 with UNC over MSU. Nova’s just too good and they’re on a roll right now, just like that UNC team was.
  14. Tied for most 3 pointers made in a Final Four game and they do it in a half. Nothing you can do when Nova shoots like that.
  15. It's just hilarious that a guy who threw 2 pitches and didn't pitch the day before is unavailable because he warmed up too much.
  16. I suppose it would look silly to complain about not using him before since Butler was so good, but that really makes it kind of horsefeathering stupid that we didn't use him before Didn’t they talk about being careful with Morrow when they signed him because of the arm injuries? Seems pretty simple to just bring him in when he warms up. Oh wait, I forgot that we had to save him for a save situation that never ended up happening.
  17. There was the game in 2014 I think where John Baker pitched a scoreless inning in the 17th or so and then walked and scored the win in run in the bottom half.
  18. Would have preferred to see Javy just square around right from the start.
