  1. Agreed 100% on the process. Wasn’t their reasoning that the Miami H2H win didn’t matter before because Notre Dame was in a different group than Miami? I can’t remember exactly what the reason was but it was dumb. I’m glad Miami got in over Notre Dame. Didn’t really care that much about Bama vs Notre Dame. One one hand, Notre Dame didn’t lose to Florida St. But they also didn’t beat a team as good as Georgia either.
  2. Time for a little FCS minute. UC Davis got the 8 seed, which meant a bye and a home game. If they won, they'd get to face the North Dakota St buzzsaw (won 10 of 14 titles), who was 12-0 this year. However NDST lost at home to Illinois St today and Davis won which means we get to host a QF matchup next week. Only other two times we made the QF, we were on the road and lost. Will be a tough game because Illinois St beat NDSt, but still cool. Was at the game today (just got home) and will be going next week too.
  3. Is Bama's O-Line awful? They can't run the ball and Simpson has very little time to throw when he drops back.
  4. I hope regardless of the result of OSU-Indiana, that the loser gets either the 2 or the 3 seed so they're on opposite sides of the bracket. Neutral site so it's not like whoever gets the 3 seed would have to play at the 2 seed (like in the FCS playoffs).
  5. Indiana, OSU and Texas Tech are locks for byes. Georgia gets a bye with a win (and maybe a close loss). Oregon probably gets the bye if Bama wins. Georgia, Oregon, aTm, Ole Miss ACC/G5 and a G5 team are in. I think OU gets in regardless of the Bama result so that's 10. I think if Bama loses but keeps it close, they shouldn't be penalized. But if this continues the way the first half went and they lose something like 31-7, I'm fine penalizing them for it. I also think Miami should get in over Notre Dame. The resume's aren't that much different and Miami beat them. That has to matter. Though if Bama is left out they might both get in anyway.
  6. Doesn't have to be an either or. Can just lump them all in together.
  7. Exactly. FIFA’s going to tell him to horsefeathers off because all they care about is making as much money as possible which means hosting games in the biggest stadiums that will draw the most fans.
  8. Group I seems like the toughest group with France, Senegal and Norway. Maybe F depending on which Euro team advances from the playoff since it already has Netherlands and Japan.
  9. So we hope Turkey gets bounced.
  10. Well we're getting a Euro team. Rio just said every group must have a European team.
  11. Nice, we avoided Italy and Denmark's playoff group. So better odds now we get a minnow.
  12. I'll take that. So roughly a 3/7 chance we get a minnow in Pot 4. Could be less than that due to the UEFA limitations of 2 per group.
  13. Yep, they can't draw one of the UEFA playoff teams.
  14. No Jordan from Pot 4 either. So from that pot we're down to the 4 UEFA teams, New Zealand, Ghana and Cape Verde.
  15. Downside is we now can't draw Qatar or Saudi Arabia from Pot 3. That's fine though.
  16. Hell yeah, we got Australia from Pot 2.
  17. ELO ratings for each Pot. I'm assuming for the playoff teams it's the highest rated team in each playoff.
  18. Maybe I'm misremembering (or I just tuned in later) but I swear the 2022 draw happened a lot quicker. I seem to remember recording it, starting it late assuming I could fast forward, but checked in here and people were like "the draw is starting already".
  19. One incompetent corrupt buffoon rewarding another incompetent corrupt buffoon.
  20. First time we got a group with Egypt, Jordan and Austria, finished 3rd and went out to England in the R32. That would be a bad result.
  21. I thought the “he’ll have a decision in four days” stuff or whatever was really weird. Like that pretty much means you’re going to leave. Because if he was going to stay he would have agreed to a contract extension. And Ole Miss is in the playoff so you’re interrupting the season regardless (as opposed to if it happened after the regular season but before a bowl game).
  22. Cal with a 1st and goal.
  23. With how the Iron Bowls at Auburn usually are, I'm fully expecting Auburn to score here and the game to come down to a 2-point conversion.
  24. Bama was up 17-0 in the second quarter but because no Iron Bowl at Auburn can be normal, it's now 20-20. Bama's offense doesn't look great either.
  25. We're going to have to agree to disagree. I don't think you can pick one week out, list a few of the games and extrapolate that out to a full season. All it means is that games involving 2 loss teams are the ones that matter versus games involving 0 and 1 loss teams. Ohio St-Indiana next week means very little to the national title picture. Might not even affect byes. But in the old system, the loser might be out. Did it matter that Texas A&M lost yesterday? Georgia is likely still in the playoff with a loss yesterday too. Like okay, maybe there's a couple more games that matter in the new system because you're including more teams. But I really liked sitting down watching a pair of 8-0 teams play knowing that the loser might not have a shot to play for a title. Now, the loser can win out and they're in for sure. I'll also disagree about any of the ACC games, Tulane and James Madison actually being relevant to people. I know that a couple of those teams are getting in, but nobody thinks any of them have a shot at winning 4 straight playoff games. Maybe Miami but that's it. If they're relevant to you, that's fine. But I doubt the average college football fan cares all that much about any of those games.
