    What a garbage run. Infield chopper to start the inning and then a half swing off the end of the bat on 0-2.

    They scored more runs in three innings than they did in 3 games against St Louis. The 5 runs through 5 innings was more than they scored in all but one game of the road trip.

    Maddon was gone the second the FO decided not to add on another year to his deal. He's a lame duck manager. If they win the WS, he can use the "I'm going out on top" excuse. If they flame out and either miss the playoffs or get bounced quickly, they'll say they're looking for a new voice in the clubhouse or some other [expletive] line. Don't know what excuse they'd use if the Cubs make the NLCS or WS and lose but I'm sure they'd have something.

    He said the same thing before the 9 game road swing the Cubs just went on and all they did was.. -blow a 2-run lead in the 8th inning -blow a 1-run lead in the 8th inning -blow a 2-run lead in the 8th and a 1-run lead in the 10th

    We’re definitely scoring like 10 runs tomorrow and winning before scoring 4 total in the first two games of the Cards series. That’s classic 2018 second half Cubs. Nailed it. Was off by one run in the Brewers game and one run in the two Cards games. Of course the implication was we’d lose both Cards games so I’m glad to be partially wrong.

    Perhaps you've never seen Tony Kemp. Altuve and Kemp are both listed as 5' 6", 165 lbs That’s only because it’s the lowest height and weight allowed in the create a player mode.

    The Pirates threw one at Dietrich's head earlier because they didn't like the way he watched a home run he hit back in April. If the Pirates are involved, it's always on the Pirates. I was reading a story that said the Pirates threw up and in on Dietrich and my first thought was wondering if it was actually inside or did it just appear inside to Dietrich because he stands on the plate. But yeah, it’s on the Pirates.

    I hope it was something more than the Pirates homering off him that set Garrett off. Not that the Pirates showboated the homer but with how that dude often celebrates getting a big third out of an inning, he couldn’t complain if someone celebrated against him.

    It will also be interesting to see what moves the Cards make as well. Do the Cards ever make big moves at the deadline? I feel like when they make a move at the deadline, at most they get like some middle reliever if they make a trade.
