  1. In the bottom of the first also. Do they not have a weather radar in Cleveland?
  2. I’m fine with him starting the 7th since it was 7-8-9 coming up. I would have been fine taking him out also since we had a fully rested pen. He probably should have been taken out after the first hit and he absolutely should have been taken out after the second. He wasn’t sharp today and was lucky he’d gotten through 6 without allowing a run. He was over 100 pitches. It was 4th time through the order. He was facing a hitter with an OPS 145 points higher against righties than lefties in his career. Hendricks 100% should not have faced Dickerson.
  3. You getting a start means we’re in the NLCS so sign me up for that.
  4. Ross can be our new positive morale coach then.
  5. Jon will do well enough until Ross leaves him in too long and costs us another game.
  6. Pretty self explanatory I think. Fire David Ross.
  7. That is your take away from this? 6 scoreless innings from Hendricks wasn't good enough? They are both starting a game one way or another. yu may have pitched 7 scoreless, because he is better. also doesn't yu starting game 2 mean he wouldn't have been able to start the nlds until game 2? it doesn't really matter, but there was absolutely no reason for it. it's a stupid ass galaxy brain move by ross. if you have a cy young winner and he's rested and healthy, you start him first. Nope. There’s enough time off that he could start Game 1 on normal rest. That being said, he should have started today.
  8. Because Ross rolled his version of Dusty’s Dice and Jeffress’s name came up.
  9. GR was right all along. David Ross sucks.
  10. Javy would have had that throw and gotten the tag down.
  11. Cubs offense still in regular season form I see.
  12. Seal Boy broke it up.
  13. Updated thread title with starters (if it's Hendricks, I'll update again) and TV network.
  14. Welcome back to the playoffs Cubs! So the last time the Cubs were in the playoffs, things didn't go all that well. But this year, we're guaranteed at least two Cubs playoff games this year rather than one, so that's good. I have to say, I really feel bad for ESPN because I have no idea what storylines they're going to talk about during these games since the Cubs and Marlins have no prior playoff history for them to talk about. I'm going to assume that the Cubs are going to start Darvish but nothing has been announced so I'll update the thread title when things are official. Four years ago, going with some old fashioned Fred stats seemed to work well for me so I'll go back to that well. CUBS are 34-26 CUBS are 17-13 at home (19-14 if you count the three Cards games at Wrigley where the Cubs were the road team as home games) CUBS are 0-0 against the Marlins this year CUBS are 111-102 against the Marlins all-time CUBS are 7-5 when Hendricks starts CUBS are 5-5 on Wednesdays GO CUBS!!!!
  15. It can't be different for attackers and defenders like it was last year. Really the referee can't judge intent that well but some are obvious. The ones I hate not called are the Sergio Ramos twist with his hands behind his back and it never gets called though he deliberately blocks the ball. Frankly, you should be far more pissed by how badly Spurs played against an absolutely pathetic Newcastle team. So make an intentional hand ball a direct free kick and an unintentional one indirect. If the ref isn’t sure, it’s indirect. You can still review PKs inside the box for intent and get a better sense than what happens live. You can still review goals also. But we can’t be giving PKs for player A kicking the ball of the foot of player B and the ball deflects up onto the arm of player C who is standing right there and has no time to react. It’s dumb. Nobody likes this rule. The players don’t like it. The managers don’t like it. The fans don’t like it. So if nobody likes it and everybody is in agreement that it’s dumb, why do we have it. And yes, Spurs should have been 2 or 3 to the good at that point and it shouldn’t have mattered.
  16. about as well as it could have set up it's crazy that none of nym/was/phi could get in with the expanded postseason I think I’d prefer swapping the Brewers and Reds.
