  1. Mateo's back hurts I think. Oh that's right. Thanks.
  2. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/chi-0609100048sep10,1,1956873.column?coll=chi-sportsnew-hed Digging around I found this article from Phil Rogers about a week ago. The HS class may be better and it is certainly deeper, but as of right now the top three players in the draft have to be college guys, IMO. My top 10 would be something like: 1. Price 2. Brackman 3. Wieters 4. Harvey* 5. Main* 6. Beavan* 7. Jackson* 8. Burgess* 9. Arencibia 10. Schmidt Dont take them too seriously, but stars are HS. With the addition of any one of those 3, the cubs farm system might have a few bonafied bluechip prospects in the making in Pawelek, Veal, and our 2007 draftee. Certainly will elevate us up in the BA ranks. By the time BA ranks the Cubs 07 draftee as part of their system, if Veal is a blue chipper, he should have graduated to the big leagues.
  3. He doesn't qualify.
  4. Can't disagree with their top three. Only one Cub-related question and they didn't even get Ceda's throwing arm correct? Weak.
  5. Dollars to doughnuts that a move to San Antonio would cause the Cubs hitting prospects to be regarded much more highly and their pitching prospects to be thought of worse. Heh, hopefully the important people who evaluate realize Pringles is a pitcher's park and the SL a pitcher's league.
  6. Brent Musburger vs. USC
  7. I really don't like Blanco starting at first base. Scott Moore can do it.
  8. The Cubs have the worst offense in baseball. Their defense is nowhere near as bad. I'd take Tejada any day of the week.
  9. Two games. I'd keep Pennington and Brees, though, and add Rex.
  10. Pittsburgh's run away from Price and Wieters!
  11. I just found out this is the same ref who screwed up the Reggie Bush fumble call (should have been a UCLA touchdown) in the 2004 USC-UCLA game which was a 10-point swing in a 5-point UCLA loss. :x
  12. Suck it, San Diego! :D And I had tickets to the game but had other obligations. :(
  13. Casey McGehee & Les Walrond - Mexico Chris Walker, Thomas Atlee, Isaac Pavlik, Ronny Cedeno & Jonathan Mota - Venezuela Felix Pie - Licey, DR Cedeno and Mota should be playing for Maracay.
  14. Austin Kearns? #-o Felipe Lopez? #-o
  15. You're just jealous. :)
  16. Yes, he stopped after '04. Si. http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/T/Ryan-Theriot.shtml
  17. Cedeno will be playing winter ball in Venezuela. I'm guessing Theriot will find a place in Latin America to play too.
  18. Ryan had a great year with the Jaxx in 2005. Riot did have troubles early in his minor league career, but he has really had a great stride over 2005 & 2006, hitting .304 in 2005 in a tough league followed up by another .304 in AAA. His numbers went up once he gave up switch hitting (gave up on it before the 05 season).
  19. Your continued attempts to somehow compare Hill and Theriot are completely nonsensical. Again, stop ignoring Theriot's career numbers. They'll tell you a LOT more about him than this tiny burst of power hitting over the last 2-3 weeks. blah blah blah. if u didnt know talent when you saw it with hill why should theriot be any different? How does evaluating the talent of a pitcher compare to evaluating the talent of a MIF? How does being wrong with one player make a difference in judging another player? I take it you've never been wrong in evaluating a baseball player?

  21. The Padres actually had a 4-0 lead after 1, so they blew two 4-run leads. Drew, Martin and Anderson actually hit HRs on back-to-back-to-back pitches. Bochy shouldn't have sat down Hoffman even with the 4-run lead. At least keep him warming up, because, you know, Adkins isn't good.
