  1. 11 in a row retired by Pino...and all three in the 4th inning were soft grounders to the right side of the IF. 0-0 in the bottom of the 4th.
  2. Mitch Atkins' third inning: Atkins vs. Gardenhire: Strike 1. Strike 2. Check swing - didn't go around, ball 1. Single to RF. Atkins vs. Patterson: Bunted foul. Sacrifice bunt, 5-3. One out. Gardenhire to second. Atkins vs. Luque: Ball 1. Popped out (foul) to third base. Two outs. Atkins vs. Betsill: Wild pitch, ball 1. Gardenhire to third. Strike 1 looking. Strike 2 looking. 3. Pino has retired 8 straight since the Heredia single to open the game. 0-0 going to the bottom of the third inning.
  4. Oneri Fleita and Bobby Dickerson are at the game. Atkins' second inning: Atkins vs. White: 10-pitch walk Atkins vs. Tintor: Flyout to LF. One out. Atkins vs. Ovalle: Groundout, 5-3 - nice throw by Reynolds. White to second base (was going on the pitch). Two outs. Atkins vs. Portes: 5-pitch walk. Atkins vs. Leger: Flyout to RF. Atkins: 2 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 2 BB, 0 K - approximately 37 pitches 0-0 after 2.
  5. Mitch Atkins bottom of the first: Atkins vs. Patterson: Strike 1 looking. Strike 2 looking. Ball 1 low. Ball 2 low. Flyout to CF. One out. Atkins vs. Luque: Strike 1 low. Strike 2 low. Fouled off (curveball), count remains 0-2. Lineout to SS. Two outs. Atkins vs. Betsill: Ball 1. Flyout to RF. 1 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 12 pitches (according to Nathan, I must have missed one somewhere) 0-0 after 1.
  6. If you scroll down here, you can see the breakdown of Felix's stats by month. His May and June were horrible, his July and August much better.
  7. And Heredia opens up the playoffs with an IF single. And promptly is retired on a Chirinos GIDP. 0-0 in the middle of the first.
  8. You're sounding good, Nathan.
  9. Peoria: 2B Valerio Heredia SS Robinson Chirinos LF Jesus Valdez 1B Ryan Norwood DH Alberto Garcia 3B Kyle Reynolds RF Yusuf Carter C Mark Reed CF Davey Gregg SP Mitch Atkins Game-time weather at Beloit, WI: 75°F, partly cloudy.
  10. Good call, Serena. I just checked the AFL rosters and Minnesota was sending him to the Mesa Solar Sox. I don't know what will happen now that he's a Cub.
  11. I think it's way to soon to tell.
  12. I think that has to do with the purging of posts that went on. It kept all of the post counts, but in the total number of posts it got cut. so the purging of posts modified the % but npt the total post count? i see... To clarify... Total number of posts at NSBB = cut by the purge Individual post counts = maintained At least that's what I think it is. I believe you're right. P.S. Jon better watch out, I'm coming for him.
  13. Except for Kenny Lofton. And Mark Grudzelaniek. And the 04 version of CPatt. And Mark Bellhorn (2002). And Eric Young (2000) And Lenny Harris(2003) Bwhahaha. In all seriousness he is about the 5th best this decade and we are in its 6th year. A real keeper. Lenny Harris only hit .111/.111/.111 out of the leadoff spot in 2003. Todd Walker hit .294/.370/.535 in 228 AB out of the leadoff spot in 2004, though. But...but...the Cubs have had a long-standing problem trying to find a leadoff hitter! Sigh.
  14. What's terrible about making Pie a leadoff hitter? I was just going to post that. What so bad about Pie hitting leadoff????? Poor plate discipline, poor ability to get on base, and (something the Cubs truely value in leadoff hitters), a poor rate of success on stolen bases.
  15. I hate the Cubs and their spin. And Sullivan laps it up.
  16. If you want to include the minors, Ryu sprained his ankle with Iowa.
  17. I'm pretty sure he's hurt. He had 1 AB in Iowa's last 3 weeks.
  18. Good for Felix. Now turn that anger into improving your plate discipline. I have no problem with Pie not being called up - I do have a problem with the reason of needing to play Pierre.
  19. MWL First Round: Game 1: Wed., Sept. 6, Peoria @ Beloit, 6:30 pm CDT Game 2: Thurs., Sept. 7, Peoria vs. Beloit, 6:30 pm CDT Game 3 (if needed): Fri., Sept. 8, Peoria vs. Beloit, 6:30 pm CDT Probable Starters: MWL First Round - Game 1: RHP Mitch Atkins (13-4, 2.41 ERA) @ RHP Yohan Pino (14-2, 1.91 ERA) Boise: RHP Jose Pina (2-5, 4.60 ERA) @ RHP Andrew Graham (3-1, 2.61 ERA) Atkins: 138.1 IP, 127 K/53 BB Pina: 58.2 IP, 24/21
  20. Yeah, apparently Villalona was already taken and I missed it, so I went with Monterro. I'm hoping Suarez or the ND WR/P (dont wanna even try spelling his name w/o looking it up) are available next time my pick comes around. I think Suarez (at age 16) is a safer pick than Samardzija.
  21. Renshaw's final line: 5 IP, 3 ER, 3 H, 1 BB, 1 HBP, 6 K. Boise down 3-1 now in the 7th inning stretch.
  22. Boise down 3-1 in the top of the 5th. Renshaw got out of the two-in-scoring-position, 1-out jam in the bottom of the third inning. Renshaw: 4 IP, 3 ER, 4 H, 1 HBP, 1 BB, 5 K, 3 WP.
  23. Alright. So if you were doing a fantasy prospect draft, would you take Montero or someone else over Sinkbeil, Huff, and Marrero? Would Montero or Villalona be available next year? EDIT: I'd rather have Lincecum or Kershaw (from your first post). EDIT #2: From reading scouting reports (which are even more imprecise when it comes to 16-year olds, I like Villalona more).
