  1. Extra innings in northern Oregon...
  2. Jason Ruhlman to pitch his 4th inning of work against Witter, Pill and Boyer in the bottom of the 9th, with the game tied at 1.
  3. 1-1, top of the 9th. Canzler, Joseph and Lansford for Boise.
  4. Boise scores 1 in the 5th to tie it up. Muldowney: 5 IP, 1 ER, 5H, 2 BB, 3 K.
  5. New Hampshire is one of the best I-AA teams around.
  6. Abdominal strain. And Washington scores a touchdown against Oklahoma on the first play of the game.
  7. Wow, great finish in the Akron-NC State game.
  8. Well, sometimes you can't control where you are on the map, right? There aren't many bigger Cubs fans on this board than you, and no one questions your loyalty as a fan in CA. My main rankling is with those who I mentioned in parentheses. Sorta like that comparison derwood made to Yankees/Duke/etc. fan. And my Cub fan-ness hasn't been questioned, but my Bulls fandom has been questioned on this board. :D
  9. I don't care who you root for or how you became a fan of them - it's just funny to see a bunch of ND fans all over the map (especially in So Cal - they were quiet in the '90s, suddenly were USC fans the last few years and are now ND fans again).
  10. By his logic, you can't root for a school you didn't go to. (Which is dumb to begin with, considering that most alums don't play a down of football for their school and simply attending the school doesn't make them anymore of a fan than anyone else). So, I guess you can't root for a team you don't work for or play for, including the Cubs. It is the same logic. He laid out his logic in a latter post. No he didn't. His "logic" consisted of saying "I don't understand why people get crazy about schools they didn't go to" and "most ND fans are bandwagonners." Come to think of it, that's not even logic. That is just spewing nonsensical opinions without any backing for what is said. That said, its fun bantering about college football with a Kansas fan and a UCLA fan. I just can't wait to see which of those two teams we play in a BCS bowl game! Let's see who's talking on Oct. 21st.

  12. School teams are professional?
  13. Eli Tintor hit two game-winning 2-run home runs this series. Both were with 2 outs in the inning.
  14. NWL Championship Game 1: Boise won 5-1, leads series 1-0 Game 2: Salem-Keizer won 5-0, series tied 1-1 Game 3: Sat., Sept. 9, Boise @ Salem-Keizer, 9:05 pm CDT Game 4: Sun., Sept. 10, Boise @ Salem-Keizer, 7:05 pm CDT Game 5 (if needed): Mon., Sept. 11, Boise @ Salem-Keizer, 8:35 pm CDT Probable Starters: NWL Championship - Game 3: RHP Billy Muldowney (1-3, 2.68 ERA) vs. RHP John Odom (6-3, 3.05 ERA) Muldowney: 43.2 IP, 42 K/11 BB Game Time Weather, Keizer, OR: 66°F, partly cloudy, 20% chance of precipitation (morning rain showers expected)
  15. Box Score Boise loses in 11 innings, 2-1: box score CF M. Camp 2/4, RBI, K, SB (1) SS M. Matulia 1/3, BB, K, HBP, 2 SB (2) LF T. Colvin 0/5, 3 K, OF assist at home (second straight day) 1B R. Canzler 0/5, 3 K RF A. Joseph 1/4, K, HBP, SB (1) 2B S. Clevenger 1/3, R, BB, K, E (1, fielding) C M. Canepa 0/3, K, HBP - left game after HBP to the head SP B. Muldowney 5 IP, 1 ER, 5 H, 3 K/2 BB, WP, 5 GO-6 FO RP J. Ruhlman 4.1 IP, 0 R, 3 H, 4 K/0 BB, 4 GO-5 FO RP R. Roquet 1.1 IP, 1 ER, 2 H, 1 K/1 BB, WP, 1 GO-2 FO - loses game on wild pitch
  16. Boise loses 5-0. Series tied at 1 as we shift to Keizer, Oregon for the final three games. Adam Cowart went the distance for the shutout. Only Colvin (2 hits) and Matulia (1 hit) got hits for Boise. Poor Chiefs. :(
  17. Game's still tied 2-2 at the seventh inning stretch. Jesse Estrada's night should be over: 7 IP, 2 ER, 2 H, 4 BB, 4 K. I have to head out for a bit, by the time I'll be back the game should be over. Go Chiefs!
  18. And the Chiefs tie it right back up in the bottom of the 5th: Davey Gregg singles. Valerio Heredia sac bunt, Gregg to second. Errant pickoff throw hits Gregg, Gregg advances to third. Chirinos grounds out 5-3, Gregg scores (might have been a play at the plate but the third baseman juggled the grounder). Jesus Valdez grounds out, 6-3. Game tied at 2 after 5 innings.
  19. Ugh, Tarrence Patterson with a suicide squeeze. Beloit now leads it 2-1 in the middle of the 5th.
  20. Aaaaaaand Estrada - who had thrown 4 no-hit innings up to this point - gives up a BB and two bloop singles as Beloit has tied the game. The Snappers have runners at second and third with one out.
  21. Actually, Parmelee is getting his first ABs for the series today.
  22. Peoria jumps ahead 1-0 in the bottom of the 4th, but leave the bases loaded.
