  1. Those are two ugly unis. Nice to hear the Bulls came back with a great finish!
  2. No I didn't forget, I mrele poitned out how broken the system is and how this continues to be proven. Regardless, I don't understand how ND is ranked higher then Oregon anyhow, but that is a different rant Second time Oregon has been shafted in the past few years. They should have been in Pasadena in 2002, not Nebraska. Yes, FSU being in a BCS bowl game is ridiculous, but there's nothing one can do about the automatic bids. The complaints are coming because of the at-large bids, where I am not alone in thinking Oregon was a better candidate than ND. I sure hope Oregon doesn't lay the egg that Cal did last year in San Diego.
  3. Let's hope Anaheim gets caught up in the Manny trade talks. CF Figgins 2B Kennedy RF Guerrero DH Ramirez LF Anderson 3B Mcphereson 1B Erstad SS Cabera/FA pickup (if traded to boston) C Molina Best lineup in the majors, offensively and defensively? I think so. Not with Anderson batting 5th.
  4. UCLA beat #17 Nevada and looked impressive! Jordan Farmar had a huge game. Looks like the freshmen big men are having some good games - maybe UCLA does have an inside presence? By the way, look out for Cal. Leon Powe is healthy and having a monster season. Oh, and I am not at all impressed with Arizona.
  5. Pittsburgh wins 17-7. Nathan Vasher scores the Bears only TD.
  6. UCLA on a 15-2 run (sparked by Afflalo, Collison and Farmar). They lead it 26-16.
  7. Me old. :( To be fair, they still offer courses in Fortran, Cobol and Pascal at UCLA. I took Java and C++ instead.
  8. I'm more disappointed with the losses of Nolasco and Pinto than Mitre and I remain a Mitre fan.
  9. A. We have the Knicks' first-rounder, and they'll almost assuredly be in the lottery. B. We might not make it out of the lottery either. :( I want a big man with the Knicks pick (LaMarcus Aldridge would be good). UCLA plays Nevada in the Wooden Classic in a bit. I expect a loss for the Bruins; despite only 1 loss, they really haven't looked that impressive (still no inside game - guards Afflalo, Bozeman and Farmar have been carrying the team).
  10. Lackey is not going anywhere. If the Angels were interested in trading for Tejada, they'd have to include Orlando Cabrerra and a few of the non-Brandon Wood propsects in their system.
  11. Miake it Cedeno, Aardsma, Williams, and a bat and you've got a deal. That bat will have to be Pie (maybe Harvey) for that deal to work. Aardsma's trade value is not that high.
  12. Bruce, nice article today about Tejada. I just hope that Hendry shares your enthusiasm. Do you think Hendry views Tejada as someone that the Cubs would be willing to part with "untouchables"? http://www.dailyherald.com/sports/sportsstory.asp?id=130468 Oh, I think so. Hendry just should have signed Tejada after the 03 season, and gotten rid of Alex Gonzalez, even if he had to pay him to play for someone else. That move still irks me. Did he even try? You would think he would have had a good shot with his good buddy Sosa still on the team then, along with Alou and Ramirez. bygones I agree with UK. The Cubs could be holding onto the prospects that could be offered for Tejada and use them in another trade. And Tejada rather than Nomar, A-Gone, Rey Ordonez and Ramon Martinez could have been the difference for the Cubs winning the Wild Card in 2004.
  13. I believe Veal finished that game with 10 Ks. I watched the video on Boise's web site and he was dominant.
  14. The Bulls looked AWFUL closing out the quarter.
  15. You've never heard of Mike Hass? Wow.
  16. I believe he has a low 90s fastball and a good slider, I've been rooting for him. I'm sad to see him get drafted. I don't much care for the others the Cubs lost.
  17. Olson definitely took a giant crap in the USC game. For the most part, he and Marcedes were the only ones who showed up at Tucson. I thought he deserved the 5th spot, but of course, I'm a bit biased.
  18. That has to be frustrating for Brady Quinn, who IMO earned a trip to New York. His stats were much better than Leinart's (300 some more yards, 5 more TDs) with no Reggie Bush in his backfield. That really sucks for Quinn and whomever the 5th guy would have been (Robinson, Vick, Olson, whomever). At least let them have that free trip to New York and get some press.
