It would be helpful to others on the board if you could explain your perspective. Do you have numbers, anecdotes, or something else to support your dislike of Scoscia? I don't think anyone in their right mind would hand Rob Quinlann a job over Dallas McPherson. I don't think many managers would still have Darren Erstad playing over Casey Kotchman. I think being in a terrible division with a huge payroll makes him look a lot better than he is. Dallas is injured and out for the year, he was playing when healthy. I wouldn't start Erstad over Kotchman either, no matter how many intangibles Erstad has. I don't like Scioscia's lineup constructions - he has a Dusty-esque ignorance of OBP, especially at the top of the lineup (OC or Erstad batting second!?). Some will criticize his bullpen management, especially in the ALDS the past two years, but I don't really think it's that bad. All in all, Scioscia is an above average manager, and a good fit for a more pitching and small ball oriented team. But yeah, Scioscia is definitely very popular amongst Angels fans. I'd say Bochy is very popular amongst the majority of Padre fans too.
