  1. 10: Rice 9: Wake Forest, Northwestern, Stanford, Vanderbilt, Army, Navy 8: Duke, SMU, Tulane, Air Force, UCLA 7: Georgia Tech, Syracuse, Michigan, Penn State, Texas, Missouri, Buffalo, Miami (Ohio), Georgia, Notre Dame Certainly some interesting names already. Cal was rated just a 6. USC was a 3. I would think they're missing something when it came to Texas. Yeah, that sounds about right for Cal. Jeff Tedford made it a stipulation that Cal would lessen their academic standards for football players when he was hired (which were a little harder than UCLA at the time). Meanwhile, UCLA insists they are a football school as much as a basketball school, but still has higher academic standards for football players.
  2. UCLA somehow beats Oregon in Eugene despite another off shooting night from Arron Afflalo and awful officiating (the shot clock broke in consecutive Oregon possessions and the refs didn't stop play - Oregon got 45 seconds each possession to take a shot and they scored both times). Most importantly, Cedric Bozeman, who just two weeks ago was thought to be out for the season, returned and played some valuable minutes. Cal beat Washington, so UCLA has taken over sole possession of first place in the Pac 10.
  3. On one hand, I feel for him but on the other hand, he only needed to maintain a 1.85.
  4. Thanks a lot for sucking after beating us at Pauley, WVU.
  5. UCLA rarely does too. :(
  6. Agreed on Randy Wells. Also, LHPs Jesus Yepez and Donald Veal who should be in Peoria and OF Deryck Lewis who was in Mesa last summer. I think Brian Dopirak will rebound a bit this season.
  7. Actually, the Cubs have made the playoffs twice since MJ's last game as a Bull. The 1998 season which resulted in the Cubs getting the wild card came a few months after the Bulls final championship.
  8. fire the trainer! UCLA has had 7 too (Hollins, Fey, Mata, Bozeman, Aboya, Shipp and Farmar).
  9. Restricted FA. :(
  10. Don't you have to use a certain amount of the cap space every year? I don't think you can just not spend it and save it for next year, but I'm not sure about that. Will they be able to spend enough to save for the max for next season? (That's obviously a risky idea unless there are other quality FAs besides LeBron next year.)
  11. Psh, we got the best kicker in the country. USC better watch out now.
  12. You could always wait and save the cap space for King James. 8)
  13. I'll take 10 out of the top 100 (6 in top 50) for year 1 of Weis recruiting :) They have 6 out of the Rivals top 100 and 6 out of the Scout top 100... I think those are both more credible sources, since Lemming is known to be a Notre Dame fan, which skews his rankings. Also, it is now official... 4 star QB and top 10 QB (nationally) Pat Devlin has decommitted from Miami and will be attending PSU. Huge pickup late in the game... next up is one of the top OL prospects, Antonio Logan-El, announcing today, followed by a mammoth DL, Phillip Taylor. I think PSU could use Logan-El more, but he's probably about a 60% shot to go to Maryland. Taylor, according to many, has already verballed to PSU, so I'd put him at about 90% to PSU over Maryland. WR Vidal Hazleton, who committed to USC on ESPNews, apparently is friends with Devlin and is reconsidering PSU. Rivals has Vidal as the #2 WR in the country.
  14. Scout: 2004: USC - the top recruits were Fred Davis, Dwayne Jarrett and Keith Rivers 2003: USC (LSU 2nd) - including Reggie Bush and LenDale White who were only 4-star prospects; the top recruits were QB JD Booty and WR Whitney Lewis who has been a big bust 2002: Texas - the top recruits were Vince Young, Rod Wright and Justin Blalock Rivals: 2004: USC 2003: LSU (Florida 2nd, USC 3rd) - the biggest recruits included RBs Justin Vincent and Alley Broussard, WRs Dwayne Bowe and Craig Davis and QB JaMarcus Russell 2002: Texas
  15. I'll take 10 out of the top 100 (6 in top 50) for year 1 of Weis recruiting :) They have 6 out of the Rivals top 100 and 6 out of the Scout top 100... Rivals.com is just as bad as Lemming, IMO, but not for scewing based on ND. They scew based on upholding their own rankings. Either way, all these rankings really don't mean a thing. The rankings should be made three years from now. That's unfair to say. Yes, a part of a HS kid's success at the next level will be the coaching he gets over the next 3 years, but a part of it is his talent - which is what is being rated now.
  16. I'm just glad New England isn't there. :)
  17. That's a sexy QB rating Delhomme has.
  18. Heck no! I'm a bitter Bears fan!
  19. I saw the second block-in-the-back when they just showed a replay of the Steve Smith punt return.
  20. Horrible punt, even worse reffing.
  21. The Bears offense can't come close to touching Seattle's. Seattle's defense has accounted for 3 pts, going on 10.
  22. Gotta give Delhomme some credit for that, plus Goings isn't the threat that Foster is. The offense is one-dimensional and Seattle has shut down Smith.
  23. Wow, Delhomme is throwing like crap.
  24. It's not a facemask when you grab him around his front and take him down. Uhh, so who's Nick Goings backup?
  25. How the heck did the refs miss that facemask on Buckner?? Stevens showing how valuable a competent pass-receiving TE is.
