  1. You do if there are two outs in the ninth and the broken bat causes you to hit a weak grounder instead of a line drive to the outfield. :D Moises!!
  2. Would you trade Pie for Huff? If not, why? I'm curious why everyone's gotten the idea that Pie is untouchable. I think that is an equally good question to others that are mad with the Cubs not getting Bradley. Would you trade Pie for Bradley? If the Dodgers were looking for a higher level OF prospect for Bradley, the Cubs were never going to be able to work out a deal. I wouldn't. Of course the A's didn't trade a prospect anywhere near Pie's level.
  3. Would you trade Pie for Huff? If not, why? I'm curious why everyone's gotten the idea that Pie is untouchable. I wouldn't, because I don't think Huff is that good (based on his declining stats from last year). Would you trade him for anyone outside of a "superstar"? Probably not.

  5. Apparently posters feel there's something to talk about. If you don't want to read about Tejada, don't read that thread. PM a mod if you have a problem.
  6. How much say does Chuck actually have in the Cubs front office?
  7. So I take it Ned Colletti got a cell phone? (For those who don't know, after he had been hired by the Dodgers, the Giants cancelled his cell phone plan and he didn't have another one. He couldn't be contacted during part of the winter meetings.)
  8. I didn't watch the end of the Saints-Falcons game - I take it Vick got hurt? What happened?
  9. No clue, Banedon. All I know is I get the Bears game here in LA, which is awesome.
  10. No, see the point is playoff football is different than regular season football. You can get away with winning just with defense in the regular season. But in the postseason you will need your QB to make a play. And that is where the argument for Rex comes from. We know Kyle can't make that play. We don't know if Rex can, but at least he has a chance. Exactly.
  11. Don't be surprised if we don't see Grossman in a game until '06. If the don't take the risk with Grossman, the Bears likely won't be winning a playoff game.
  12. Orton will start against Atlanta. :x
  13. The Downtown Athletic Club has just announced that Brady Quinn has been awarded the 2006 Heisman Trophy. *pumps fists* Gets rid of a Heisman AND a national title contender. Pfft, it's a battle for second place after Chase Daniel. Mo Drew disagrees. So does AD. Wow, I totally forgot he existed (and UCLA played OU!). He'd be my #1 candidate for now, ahead of Quinn.
  14. Yeah, our schools will have that taken care off. :D

  16. The [expletive] are going to kill Mizzou.
  17. I dont think it will be as bad as last years game, but I dont think it will be close either. It all depends on whether or not Texas can take advantage of USC up the middle. USC has really improved up the middle - at least at LB. They're still young, but they really have gotten better. The defense is really going to be filthy next year.
  18. He should be back this year from the shoulder injuries. He spent most of last year recovering from surgery and rehabing. We'll see if he can get back to his 2003 playing level.
  19. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2255829 C'mon Pom Pom Pete. You know you want to go back to the pros!
  20. Hill, Ryu, Valdes, Pignatiello, non-roster guy. Brownlie and Koronka in the AAA pen. Guzman, Marmol and Marshall starting at AA. All 3 could be promoted rather quickly to AAA. I think the most likely of those 3 to start at AAA is Marmol - the Cubs promoted him aggressively last year and might continue to do so. I think he could use some more time at AA, though.
  21. Thome was traded to the White Sox last month.
  22. Are you really from Houston? Eww, heck no.
  23. Hopefully the Cubs will lure Darren Oliver back out of retirement again.
  24. Odd since Corey's strong work ethic has been mentioned often by many people in the system. Just because someone works hard at improving doesn't mean he will.
